Scotland faces tough competition on its way to the Euros

While the soccer world cup is right around the corner, there is another tournament in mind for a lot of teams, and that is the 2024 Euro. Some of these teams have also started to worry about their placement in the tournament after the results from the drawing ceremony in Frankfurt, Germany was announced.

Group A and the deadly striker

Scotland is one of the soccer teams that likely will have a harder time coming through in the first group place, where they will face Spain, Norway, Georgia, and Cyprus in Group A. The team will likely experience tough competition from three-time champion Spain, and Norway with their new star player. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has shown impressive skills on the field lately, scoring a hat-trick in three consecutive home games in Premier League this season. His performance has earned him the position of the world's deadliest striker and is no doubt a big challenge for the Scottish national team.

Preparing for Euros

All teams are in training, either for the soon upcoming world cup, or the Euros that will be played from the 14th of June until the 14th of July in 2024. Germany is the host country, and we are all looking forward to a summer full of football matches. Fans are also spending their time wisely, playing football-themed games. You can for example try Football Champions Cup if you are a soccer fan who also likes to gamble on occasion.

Furthermore, many discussions on the seed and draw of the Euros are already taking place, so you might as well join in on how the Scottish national team can redeem themselves after a horrendous Euro 2020, where they had qualified for an international competition for the first time in 23 years. The team were eliminated in the group stage after only gaining 1 point in the three group stage matches.

Qualifying for Euros

The teams luckily have some more time to practice and to gather the troops, as the qualifiers are beginning in March next year. Here they will not only meet striker Haaland and famous winners Spain but also Cyprus and Georgia, who are both in Scotland’s pool. If the team fails to finish first or second, they have the insurance of a play-off, as they topped their Nations League group earlier this month.
