Odds for the Euro 2020 Tournament

The rearranged Euro 2020 tournament will kick off on Friday 11 June with a match between Italy and Turkey in Rome. The competition will see 24 European nations battle it out through the group stages and knockout rounds, with the semi-finals and final being played at Wembley Stadium in London.

Who will win Euro 2020?

In the latest Euro 2020, most bookies have England as the favourites to lift the trophy, the first time the country would have won a major international trophy since 1966. Sportsbooks including 1xbet are showing the second-favourites to win is France, who won the World Cup in 2018 and third favourites is Belgium which is home to several world-class players and is ranked first in the FIFA world rankings.

Favourites to win

The England team is favourite to win at odds of 5/1. Gareth Southgate has a good squad from including Harry Kane one of world soccer’s best goal scorers, Mason Mount as the link between midfield and attack and Jude Bellingham in midfield. Gareth Southgate’s England will be playing on home soil, with six matches being played at Wembley Stadium, which could also work in their favour.

Groups and odds

Alongside England in Group D is Croatia with odds of 25/1 which is fielding a mature team that includes Luka Modric and Marcelo Brozovic who are coming off fantastic seasons at club level. In the same group are the Czech Republic and Scotland which is last in a major tournament about 20 years ago.

France, the current World Cup holder is second-favourite at 5/1 with key players including Kylian Mbappe, who is possibly the best soccer player in the world right now, alongside Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema. In Group F, France is joined by Germany, Hungary and Portugal.

In qualifying, Belgium, under the guidance of Roberto Martinez, claimed the maximum 30 points, scored 40 goals and conceded just three goals. The Red Devils have odds of 13/2, with concerns about a recent injury to Kevin De Bruyne. In Group B, Belgium is up against Denmark, Finland and Russia.

Bookies are offering odds of 7/1 for Spain to lift the trophy. In Group E, Spain will initially be playing against Poland, Slovakia and Sweden, making it one of the easier groups in the competition.

With odds of 8/1, both Germany and Italy (Group A) have a good chance of reaching the later stages even though both teams have had a tough few years in international competitions. Group A also includes Switzerland, Turkey and Wales.

Italy’s initial challenge will be to knock out Turkey, which has a strong team which thrashed the Netherlands in March 2020 and could create a surprise this summer.

Portugal is looking to retain the European Championship crown with a team that includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Ruben Dias to make what may be the best squad in the tournament. The odds offered for Portugal to win are 10/1. Being in the “Group of Death” with France, Germany and Hungary is less advantageous.

The Netherlands have a major setback going into the competition as Virgil van Dijk is injured. The team have odds of 12/1 to win and will be playing alongside Austria, North Macedonia and Ukraine in Group C.
