Scottish Premiership

Celtic extended their flawless start to the league campaign, grinding out a 2-1 away victory over St Mirren to make it five wins from five. The reigning champions remain top of the pile with a maximum 15 points and a healthy ten-goal difference, already establishing a five-point cushion at the summit. The Paisley side drop points for the first time this season but cling on to second place with 10 points.

Rangers kept up the pressure on the chasing pack with a narrow 1-0 win over Motherwell at Ibrox. That makes it three league wins on the bounce for the Light Blues, moving them level on 10 points with St Mirren—setting up a mouthwatering clash when the two sides meet in Glasgow on Wednesday. For Motherwell, a first defeat of the season leaves them in fifth on eight points, still very much in the early European conversation.

At Tannadice, Dundee United were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Falkirk. The Tangerines sit eighth with five points from their six games, while the Bairns picked up just their second point of the campaign. Falkirk remain second-bottom in 11th and are still searching for their first league win after five attempts (LDLLD).

Things were equally tight in the North East as Aberdeen and Kilmarnock fought out a 0-0 stalemate at Pittodrie. It does little for either side's momentum: the Dons are now four games without a win in 10th spot with four points, while Kilmarnock halted a four-match losing skid to earn their first point of the season, though they remain rooted to the foot of the table.

Scottish Championship

The story of the Championship season continues to be written by newly promoted Stenhousemuir, who kicked off the weekend on Friday night with a superb 1-0 away triumph at Livingston. The Warriors are flying high at the top of the table on 13 points, having strung together four straight wins and remaining unbeaten across their opening five fixtures. Livingston, on the other hand, sit fifth on six points after back-to-back defeats.

Keeping Stenny firmly in their sights are Partick Thistle, who ground out a 1-0 victory over Ayr United at Firhill. The Jags sit second on 11 points and extend their own unbeaten run to five matches. The Honest Men are sliding in the opposite direction, winless in four and sitting seventh on five points. Next up? A tantalising top-of-the-table showdown next Saturday when Stenhousemuir host Partick Thistle at Ochilview.

Raith Rovers cemented third spot with a comfortable 2-0 away win over Inverness CT. Raith move onto 10 points, while Caley Thistle remain in dire trouble in ninth with just three points and no wins from their first five matches. Arbroath occupy the final promotion playoff spot in fourth (eight points, four unbeaten) following a 1-1 draw at Gayfield with Dunfermline, who sit sixth on six points.

At the bottom, Queen's Park bagged their first league win of the season, edging Greenock Morton 2-1 to climb to eighth. The defeat leaves Morton adrift at the bottom with a solitary point from five outings (LLLDL).

Scottish League One

Hamilton maintained their imperious start to the League One campaign with a clinical 1-0 victory away at East Kilbride. Accies sit top with 16 points from six games, six matches unbeaten, and remarkably, are yet to concede a single league goal this season with a goal difference of +12. East Kilbride slip to sixth on seven points after suffering three straight defeats.

Hot on Hamilton's heels are Ross County, who had to settle for a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw away to East Fife. The Dingwall outfit remain unbeaten in second with 13 points and a game in hand over the leaders. It sets up an enormous clash next Saturday when Ross County host Hamilton in the Highlands. East Fife have now drawn three in a row (four without a win) and sit fifth on seven points.

Montrose were the division's biggest winners of the afternoon, cruising to a 3-0 away win over Peterhead at Balmoor. That marks three consecutive wins for the Gable Endies, propelling them into the playoff spots in fourth with nine points, level with third-placed Alloa Athletic who drew 1-1 away at Cove Rangers.

In the basement battle, Queen of the South claimed their first victory of the season with a 2-1 home win over Airdrieonians. The Doonhamers climb off the bottom to ninth on goal difference, leaving Airdrieonians rock bottom, still winless after six attempts.

Scottish League Two

There is a new leader in League Two after Clyde edged a five-goal thriller against Edinburgh City, winning 3-2 at home. The Bully Wee have now gone four games unbeaten and sit top of the pile on 13 points. Edinburgh City remain bottom with three points.

Clyde's ascent was aided by Dumbarton, who produced a clinical 2-1 home win to hand previous leaders Elgin City their first defeat of the season. Despite the setback, Elgin remain second on 11 points, while the Sons jump up to eighth on six points.

Stranraer made a statement with an emphatic 3-0 away triumph over Forfar Athletic at Station Park. The Stair Park side have now gone four games unbeaten to climb into third place on 10 points, pushing Forfar down to sixth. Spartans moved into the top four with a tidy 2-0 away win against Stirling Albion, leaving the Binos ninth and winless in five. Elsewhere, Kelty Hearts edged Annan Athletic 2-1 to sit fifth, locked on nine points with Spartans.
