Scottish Premiership

Another Saturday of dramatic top-flight action saw Celtic maintain their flawless start to the campaign, while alarm bells are already clattering loudly at Rugby Park.

The champions made it three wins from three with a hard-fought Celtic 2 - 1 Falkirk victory at Parkhead, keeping them perched at the summit on nine points. For the Bairns, it was a spirited display but leaves them second from bottom with just a solitary point from three outings.

Hearts moved up to second spot after edging out St Johnstone 2 - 1 at Tynecastle. That makes it back-to-back victories for the Jambos as they move onto six points, while the Perth Saints drop to eighth after suffering their second consecutive defeat. The Gorgie faithful will head into the upcoming midweek Edinburgh Derby against Hibernian with real momentum.

The shock of the weekend came in Ayrshire, where Kilmarnock were comprehensively dismantled in a 0 - 4 home hammering by Dundee United.
