Now I'm guessing Vafaei was only invited because of the Chinese player suspensions but it was nice to see him play well and go through.

That said, Selby don't look great. I know he has had mental health issues and has been addressing them but he didn't look in great shape to me sat in his chair. I wish him well in the future. Perhaps a break will do him good although with the World Championships on the horizon, he'll be trying to focus on that.

A truly spectacular bottle job from Day. 5-3 up, 5-5, need snookers, gets a snooker and a free ball... and misses the brown into the middle. Donkey.

That final frame did include one of the most annoying things I see on a snooker table - a player potting the frame ball, then not potting the next one. It's the final frame and you're 5 points past the winning margin. Pot the next fucking ball and end the frame instead of wasting everyone's time for another ten minutes.

  • Lu Ning has been charged with fixing a match and being concerned in fixing matches and approaching a player to fix a match on the World Snooker Tour, seeking to obstruct the investigation and betting on snooker matches.

  • Yan Bingtao has been charged with fixing matches on the World Snooker Tour and betting on snooker.

  • Zhao Xintong has been charged with being concerned in fixing matches on the World Snooker Tour and betting on snooker.

  • Zhang Jiankang has been charged with fixing a match on the World Snooker Tour, failing to report approaches for him to fix matches and betting on snooker matches.

  • Chen Zifan has been charged with fixing matches on the World Snooker Tour.

  • Chang Bingyu and Zhao Jianbo have each been charged with fixing a match on the World Snooker Tour

  • Bai Langning has been charged with being concerned in fixing a match on the World Snooker Tour.

The players are currently suspended from attending and competing on the World Snooker Tour and in other WPBSA governed events until the conclusion of the hearing or hearings and the determination of this matter.

This matter will be referred to a formal hearing before an Independent Disciplinary Tribunal that will take place at a venue and on a date to be confirmed.

It's very bad. Bingtao fixing multiple matches and betting on matches. Xintong similar.

The lot of them charged with some offences or another.

That p***k Wenbo gone from the tour forever, hopefully. A nasty piece of shit.

Another tournament this week straight after the Welsh open, won by Milkins who is good to watch and a very natural player.

Allen v O'connor on just now. If Allen loses any more weight he's gonna disappear. He's getting a bit of stick from the pundits for playing slower than he usually does.

Murphy comfortably beats Selby. What's happened to grinder Selby lately!!

Neal Foulds is thee most miserable analyst/commentator, looks like he hates it.

Hope Selby sorts his shit out and has help. Absolutely brutal to watch but a really decent guy.

Watching Trump vs Carter now. Are the tables playing bad or are the players playing under protest or something? This is grim viewing so far, really poor by both or them

Next session might improve hopefully, 2-2 so all to play for but like you say both players struggling so far.

Don't agree with this narrative that Selby is brutal to watch. He's literally one of the greatest players (and greatest breakbuilders) of all time.

The man is a shotmaker, can score with the best, hang in safety with the best, can shitfest like f**k when he's not playing well and still win. The guy is a snooker genius.

I hear the boring argument about Selby often and usually from O'Sullivan fans who can't handle that Selby has pumped their man in numerous big finals.

When he’s firing he gets in a good rhythm and is awesome, but other times he overthinks it and it does get brutal. I’m all for tactical frames and grinding out results but these guys see the correct shot within a couple of secs. Taking 2-3 mins per shot sometimes is hard to watch.

On a brighter note, at least this game is warming up nicely for a decider!
