Crow
Vale of Leithen 2-0 Hill of Beath Hawthorn @ Victoria Park 🌧. The Vale deservedly secure their first EoSFL Premier Division points of the season to move off the bottom and above their opponents. A goal in each half ️ and the visitors had no answer. Crowd 67. Crow
Heart of Midlothian 0-3 Fiorentina @ Tynecastle Park . UEFA Europa Conference League, Group A. The Serie A side ahead early on and were far too strong for Hearts who were reduced to 10 men not long after the restart. Crowd 17,243.

Autistisches Nilpferd
Armadale Thistle 2-3 Livingston United Third time seeing Armadale this season and the first time for us at the new and improved Volly. Also the 2nd time seeing Livi and for the second time it was a cracker. Don't tell Chic Young how bouncy the new plastic pitch is or he may have an aneurism. Livi have a two nil lead and were pegged back and we lucky not to go behind. They miraculously retook the lead with about 10 to play and somehow held on.

Marten
Today I finished my aim to visit all clubs in the East of Scotland League. And appropriately I finished at the longest serving members.Coldstream 2-3 Burntisland ShipyardThe game started off with some tension. Only 5 seconds (!) after KO a Burntisland player made a bad tackle. In my opinion, he was very lucky to only get a yellow. Not long after, the guests took the lead. Later in the first half there was a bad tackle by a Coldstream player who was also lucky to only get a yellow. Burntisland score a second late on in the first half. The hosts pulled one back just after the restart. The game was very exciting and Coldstream managed to equalise fairly late on. However, the visitors scored a third soon after and grabbed the win in what was a tight affair.

DoingThe42
15/42: Forfar 1-3 East Fife, League Two, 8/10/22 - Big Double-Header Saturday Part 1 First time at Station Park for almost 25 years. Two goals from Ryan Schiavone just before half-time put East Fife in control of this one. An unlucky/quit funny OG from Docherty killed it before Forfar pulled one back. East Fife had looked the better side, even before going ahead. Shepherd up-front worked hard and never gave Forfar any peace. Forfar offered very little and were well-beaten. An absolutely beautiful day for it, and I really enjoyed this one. Got a bridie as well. I nipped off with five minutes to go in order to make it to Part Two.
DoingThe42
16/42: Dundee United 4-0 Aberdeen, Premiership, 8/10/22 Big Double-Header Saturday Part 2 Who saw that coming then? Well, sort of me. I had a feeling United would win here, but not like this. Aberdeen looked toothless and descended into utter shambles at the back as the game went on. A terrible showing from them. United pressed well and when the chances came, they took them. Interesting now to see if United can do this again or if they just have one good performance every few months and get relegated anyway. Could go either way. I love Tannadice, so really enjoyed this. The Saturday evening kick-off seemed a big success. Great atmosphere and one of the most enjoyable games I've been to on this endeavour.
The Mantis
Ticked off most of the WOSL 1st division grounds over the years, so I planned to head for Gartcairn v Johnstone Burgh at MTC Park. Then remembered Albion Rovers v Bonnyrigg was on at 3pm so just settled for the first half at Gartcairn (goalless, awful venue). One of those cages where you are restricted to one side, so to get pic no 1 I had to leave the ground and poke my phone through a gate. Missed Gartcairn's late winner (1-0 88 mins) but the first half was forgettable. Amazingly I made the kickoff at Cliftonhill, only about 2 miles and the traffic was so-so.
Andy groundhopper
Some great tales and photos, ready for my return North on Friday - using public transport it would be hard to get two games in a day, unless 2nd was a 730 k.o Can't wait to get back and hopefully no train strikes this time
Marten
Dryburgh Athletic WFC 1-0 Renfrew LadiesSWFL Championship and League One CupBottom SWFL Championship hosting top at Glenesk Park, but the difference in the league table wasn't visible on the pitch. Excellent team performance by the hosts, with a very strong goalkeeper who had various great saves including a penalty. An excellent goal late on gave Dryburgh the deserved win. Good attendance, easily over 100.
DoingThe42
17/42: Kilmarnock 2-2 Hearts, Premiership, 9/10/22. A funny one this, as Hearts rescue it from 2-0 down. Rubbish weather, some terrible errors by players and match officials, a comedy goal and a great goal, a last-minute equaliser. It sounds better than it was, but overall a decent enough match. Our tickets were unfortunately near a large group of the Hearts young team, and, f**k me, I thought I was negative. These lads are daft. Still, a decent day out in Kilmarnock, and 12 goals in three games this weekend to shove my goal average back up a bit. Now at 2.7 per game having been flagging a wee bit. So far, after 17 games - 4 Premiership, 3 Championship, 2 League One, 2 League Two, 3 League Cup, 1 Challenge Cup, 1 Conference League, 1 Europa League - I've spent 320 quid getting into the games, an average of 18.80. And I'm running at just under seven quid a goal. Edited October 10, 2022 by DoingThe42

centralTon
Bonnyrigg 2 v 0 Annan. Game started at a hectic pace and Bonnyrigg were on the front foot from the start. No surprise when an excellent cross was met with a good header for 1-0. Game calmed down after that and it was 1-0 at ht. Bonnyrigg were always in control and when they scored a second it was inevitable. Now only got Elgin, Kelty and Cove to complete the current 42.

DoingThe42
18/42: Elgin 1-0 Albion Rovers, League Two, 11/10/22 Wasn't going to let my ticket for the Queen Cancellation Weekend go to waste, so an eight-hour round trip on a Tuesday night for a bit of League Two. Home just after 2am to retrieve a well-earned Tennent's from the fridge. In the event, my ticket wouldn't scan and the guy just waved me in and told me not to bother. So, add one to the official attendance. Second time I'd seen each of these teams this season, and for the second time I saw Rovers get mugged. I wasn't sure how they'd cope with the awkward journey for a Tuesday maybe disrupting selection etc, but they were the better side tonight. A combination of good goalkeeping and a lack of quality in the final third cost them dearly. Hoban had two good saves in the first half, in a spell where Elgin were lucky to stay in the game. Elgin never really got going, Hester did some good running but didn't really get into the game as a threat much. Dolzanski won it for Elgin with a goal from a corner. Tough on Rovers, I felt. But then, last time I saw Elgin I thought they were unlucky to lose at Dumbarton, so some balancing out for them. It's a great stadium. A really unique character to it and I'll be back. A really good pie, too. League Two and the Premiership now both at 50% done for the season, and the other two leagues will reach that milestone shortly. The Mantis
Apologies to @centralTon for a repeat, at least it's a different viewpoint. Bonnyrigg 2 Annan 0. Rose started Hunter and loanee Mitchell up front together for the first time and both scored, Hunter with a fine header from a Currie cross and Mitchell on the break, running on to a Hunter through pass.
