Craig fae the Vale
Jeanfield Swifts 6-1 Tynecastle. Three quick goals midway through the first half had the hosts in control. Tynie got one back just before the break and looked to have gotten themselves back into it but Jeanfield scored twice quickly after half time and put the result beyond any doubt. Decent game, fantastic pies and a lovely night for a game. Well worth the trip.
Clockwork
Derby County 2 Fulham 1 @Pride Park 15/04/22. Fulham perhaps with most of the possession and chances, but Derby worth their win, worked their socks off throughout the 2nd half. Certainly didn’t feel like a top Vs bottom clash. Probably a little too late for the Rams though. Att 23,773
Sergeant Wilson
21 hours ago, ScottR96 said: Had a bit of a nightmare with that one. Hadn’t realised they had moved stadium so made our way to the old one. Saw the floodlights and thought “Great, that must be it!”, so got ourselves a couple of beers from a nearby shop and sat for about an hour or so waiting to go in to the game. I had been to a BFC game in 2019, albeit an away game to Viktoria Berlin, and could remember them having quite a lively support at that game so I thought it was a bit weird that we hadn’t seen the crowd starting to build with club colours on etc but didn’t think too much of it and just assumed that we were round the opposite site of the ground from all the pre match shenanigans. About 20 mins to kick off we realised we were at the wrong fucking ground so jumped in a taxi and missed the first 15/20 minutes (including 2 goals). Nearly never got in at all but thankfully the ticket office took pity on us. Thought the game itself was quite poor but Jena got a late penalty to win it so at least we saw one goal. Would’ve been typical had it finished 1-1 and we had missed both goals (last time I went to see them it finished 0-0). That's my kind of groundhopping. Get drunk and go to the wrong place.
Jute
Arniston Rangers 0-3 Haddington Athletic. New ground for me today. Haddington open up 5 point lead on Leith in title race with this win. Good game with both sides trying to play football. Edited April 16 by Jute
Autistisches Nilpferd
Dalbeattie 0-2 Caledonian Braves.Lowland League ️. Not the best game today, some of the worst refereeing I have ever seen. Braves deserved winners against Dalbeattie who were down to 10 men for over an hour.
Craig fae the Vale
Carlisle City 4-2 Chester-le-Street Town. A trip down south this afternoon. Carlisle were 3-1 up at half time and well worthy of their lead. Chester-le-Street scored late on and looked to have made it a bit of a nervy finish, but the home side caught them on the break and sealed the win with the last kick of the ball. Good game, tenth tier of the English pyramid, not much of a difference in quality to what I usually watch. Massive novelty and brilliant to be able to have a beer in the stand.
Inanimate Carbon Rod
Went to FC United vs South Shields, over 2000 in attendance, live band playing under the stand, what a fantastic bunch at FC, very hospitable. Would definitely return.
The Mantis
Lewis & Harris League (Moldova Lewis Cup), Monday night at Garrabost. Point FC 3-2 Carloway FC. Point score almost from the kickoff and are expected to hammer unfancied Carloway (who lost 9-1 to Ness last time I saw them). However Carloway equalise on 20 mins and take a surprise lead after 50. Carloway look quite comfortable and have a late chance for 3-1, but disaster strikes as Point equalise on 88 minutes and everybody wonders how the extra time will work in the dark. Then Point get a contentious penalty in 96 mins. The keeper saves it but the rebound is knocked home for the winner.

Looks like I've got a weekend round of the Co-op Cup and a midweek league card on whilst I'm there. Excellent news! Can't wait to share this news with my family, who will be truly delighted, perhaps even thrilled, at the prospect of me dragging them off Uig Sands to go and watch fitba.Of the league games (at Back, Point, Westside and Ness for that round of fixtures), which grounds would you recommend as the better choices? (All seem broadly 45-60 minutes away from our digs in Kneep.)

(All seem broadly 45-60 minutes away from our digs in Kneep.) If you're at Kneep, it's a shame your (my) "local" team Carloway aren't at home. Same with Utd and Aths who groundshare at Goathill. Ness, Back and Point are all decent, and Point have a good social club. Ness have too but I've never been in it. West Side is a bit more basic. I'll be back up there 5th August for a week. Bear in mind that Ness will take you about 1 1/4 hours to drive. Autistisches Nilpferd
Carlisle 1-0 Mansfield. Easter Monday madness in Cumbria. Dreadful first half with ex Aberdeen dud Matty Longstaff not exactly a standout in English League Two. One goal from the excellent Omari Patrick enough to ensure United stay up
Andy groundhopper
Mangotsfield 2 Slimbridge 0 att 140. Relegated Mangoes put in a decent display v a lifeless Swans, who didn't take early chances and were made to pay. Possibly down to either the Hellenic or Western next season, a fairer level for the youngsters.

Christophe
Bootle 2-0 Marine Local derby to dash Marine's outside title hopes. Title will be decided on the final week now and won by either Warrington Rylands or Workington. Marine will be in the play offs. Bootle took the lead from the moment of the match which was an excellent cross from the left winger onto the strikers head at the back post. Ball of a lifetime stuff that you knew was a goal the second it left the wingers foot. Bootle then had a centre-half sent off straight red for a tackle on around 30 mins. Bit harsh for me, he was late but not sure it was reckless or studs up. Brilliant defensive performance for Bootle to hold on, against the more fancied team anyway, from there and despite a deluge of attacks from Marine it was Bottle who scored again late on, on the break to seal the points. 1,112 in attendance Edited April 19 by Christophe

Crow
Newton Aycliffe 0-0 Whickham @ Moore Lane Sports Club . First up on Good Friday a 12noon kick off in the Northern League Division 1 ... stalemate. A couple of good saves and blocks at both ends but no one could find the breakthrough. Crowd 190.
Jute
Preston Athletic 2-2 Kinnoull. Too nice a night to be sitting in house so headed along to this. Really entertaining game with some great goals. Draw probably the right result in the end. 117 in attendance apparently.
Craig fae the Vale
Caledonian Braves (South of Scotland) 2-0 Nithsdale Wanderers Dreadful game and indiscipline costs Nithsdale again as for the second time in a fortnight they end a game here with nine men. Also caught the first half of Bullwood 1-1 Polonia Glasgow on the back pitch, which was a nice bonus.
Crow
Harrogate Town 1-4 Swindon Town @ Wetherby Road on Friday . 3pm kick-off in League 2 and a comfortable win for the impressive visitors who led 2-0 at half time and 4-0 after an hour. Crowd 2933 including 600 from Swindon. That’s me up to 70/92.
