The pie was hot. The bar is hoaching. And the rain has stayed off, just. Perfectly decent day out this. Not a single thing to complain about. Great photos Le Tout really need to go to Fort William this season.
Le Tout P'ti FC
Great photos Le Tout really need to go to Fort William this season. I've never been to Claggan Park before. Great atmosphere yesterday, the Ultras got right behind their team. Fort ended up losing 5-3, but game was in the balance right up to the final goal about five minutes from time. That ground is completely unique: the condemned stand miles away from the pitch, the social club inside the ground, the bloody huge mountain behind the goal. Magic day out for me. Combined a seven goal thriller at the shinty in Newtonmore, a trip to Claggan Park and dinner at the new Black Isle Bar. Even managed to get through Glencoe before the light totally ran out.
Rab B Nesbit
Great stuff @Le Tout P'ti FC. Nice time of year to go there. I’ve looked at it a couple of times midweek but it would be a shame to just rush through and back. Hopefully fit it in on a Saturday when there’s nothing else on.
CM.
Man U v Brighton next month. Expecting a graveyard atmosphere and a horrific game of football but oh well
Sergeant Wilson
Tried to go to Pafos v. Omonia Nicosia yesterday, but since I was last here they've introduced a membership scheme to access any Cypriot ground. A good few hundred turned away. Looked good the wee bits I could see, before retiring to the pub. I'd thought about going to Limasoll today but have now decided against it. Membership seems to be a bad idea to me, but the 50 odd riot police outside the ground might be a clue why they did it.

The Mantis
Random matches you missed by a bawhair. Spent the day in Tromsø on Hurtigruten cruise ship. Noticed this ground up the hill above the ship. Alfheim Stadion, home of Tromsø IL. Looked up the fixtures and they were playing Kristiansund at 1800, but the ship was leaving at 1830

I fkn love that Glencoe pic. Reminds me of so many evenings heading back down the road after a brilliant walk or an amazing holiday - Arisaig, Steal gorge, Arnamurchan, the Mamores - leaving as late as possible to make the most of it and feeling a deep pang of regret with every mile away from those special places.
GordonS
Linlithgow Rose Juniors 1-4 Newburgh yesterday. No pics as every 3G cage with standing on one side looks exactly like all the others. About 40 soggy souls watching an unremarkable match. I'm still not sure what the new junior team is for, but if they're enjoying it that's all that matters.
GordonS
Newcastle Utd 1-0 Man Utd today. My first English league match at any level, second domestic English match and fifth English football ground. I've long wanted to take the train down for the day, decided last night to book tickets. I could've picked better weather though. First class on the train for about 60 quid, very pleasant. It was the kind of game that bores when you watch on telly, but you see so much more at the game and I thought it was fascinating - two teams of good players with low confidence, terrified of each other and of making a mistake. In the end Man U shit the bed more copiously and deserved what they got. Really nice to see a kid score the winner in his debut, for his hometown club, in front of the home end, playing alongside his brother. Roy off the Rovers stuff.I wouldn't pay that to watch football regularly but it was fun as a one-off.

I remember the little club house behind the goal did a dram for a quid. Just had a quick look, and it was Ossett Albion V Skelmersdale United.
