Blackpool v Sunderland today. Finished 1-0 to Sunderland. Sunderland should have won by more but had no cutting edge. Bloomfield Road for a relatively modern stadium is a dump.

C.D.Nacional v Vitoria Guimarães. Finished 1-0 to Nacional, despite them clearly being an inferior side. Nice enough stadium and an alright attendance, although it turned out to be a massive pain in the arse to get to. If Guimarães had been able to produce anything approaching a decent final ball they’d have won comfortably. Nacional also make a huge deal about Cristiano Ronaldo having played there for a couple of years as a child...

Heading to Herriot Watt v Stirling Uni in the East of Scotland Conference C today.

Edit: Finished 2-0 to Herriot Watt. Comfortable victory after Stirling were reduced to 10 early in the first half. First visit since Herriot Watt got the new stands put in.

off to Valencia in just over a week.villareal and levante at home but as per usual fixtures not kind so on too close to each other to catch both:(

getting well pissed off at the inability of the Spanish football authorities to schedule when their games are in the 3rd/4th tiers with more than a weeks notice

Bound to be a rake of Terecera games on in that region within striking distance of Valencia. Public transport may be the issue though. I had the same problem in Malaga last November.

Heading to Edinburgh Uni v East Stirlingshire in Lowland League today.

Edit: Finished 2-1 to Shire.  Uni were 1-0 up when Shire were reduced to 10 men but Andy Rodgers coming on changed game for Shire and they ran out deserved winners.

top entertainment at worthing v lewes - red cards, goals from the half way line and a version of ‘the billy boys’ that finishes with “if you are a bognor fan surrender or you'll die” - and now a 25 yard free kick straight in to the top corner - fantastic stuff for a tenner...[emoji3]

this was today's 'big sussex derby' 6th v 5th in the bostick isthmian premier (level seven - promotion to the conference south); lewes won 4-3 to go second in front of an impressive crowd of 1126; London Pride for £3.50 a pint, three stands made out of corrugated tin sheeting and a brilliant, competitive game with no 'simulation' or other fuckwittery - just great

a full write-up by some bloke who can use a camera properly:

and see the tall gobshite stood up right at the back of the main stand - that's me, that is !

Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1-2 Queen of the South

Boring first half, but the second half was much better. ICT took the lead but 2 goals in quick succession secured the points for the guests.

Impressive display from the hosts to hammer the league leaders. Palmerston is a brilliant ground, really enjoyed my day.

You are hereby appointed as our lucky mascot. If you could just pop along to Dens Park next Saturday that would be much appreciated. :thumsup2
