The pitch in indeed huge The pitch is 100x62m on Google Maps, a decent size but well off from the maximum allowed 105x68m that you'll find at Hampden etc. 23 hours ago, Autistisches Nilpferd said: Kilsyth scored after 50 seconds and then oops... West Division 2 against East division 3 but Thistle looked the better side throughout. Two late goals make the score line a bit less one sided. Armadale are out of position having not moved to from the Juniors until last season, in reality they are a EOS First Division side.
forfarton
Arbroath 1 AFC Fylde 2 Good friendly match at Gayfield this evening. Fantastic save from Fylde goalie to stop ball heading into top corner then managed to keep out rebound. Shortly afterwards 6'5" Emeka Obi rose well above everyone else to head a corner into the Arbroath net. Fylde go 2 up in 2nd half with a tap in. Fabulous free kick from Bobby Linn to pull one back. Couple of other good chances for Arbroath including O'Brien denied by another cracking save.

It's that narrow BSC Glasgow or Open Goal Broomhill as they're now known were refused this park as an entry to the Lowland League.
Marten
AFC Falkland 3-1 Fair City RecreationalNot exactly a high standard of football. Falkland were much better but didn't finish their chances. Falkland played the last 30 minutes with an outfield player in goal due to an injury, but he never got in trouble. The main reason why this ground was on my list was due to the amazing location of the ground. Absolutely stunning scenery.

Crow
Heart of Midlothian 5-0 Bonnyrigg Rose @ Tynecastle a couple of weeks ago. The Lowland League Champions completed their pre-season with a very tough test in the sun . They battled away well and it took Hearts 40 minutes to open the scoring. Further goals came on 65 (pen), 77, 81 & 89. Crowd 2984.

Jute
Leith Athletic 1-0 Edinburgh United. Managed first half of game at new Meadowbank. No idea how this has been passed fit for league football. Fine facility for non league football but not league club who could have 4 figure crowds. Guest
Tranent 2-3 East Kilbride First lowland league game for Tranent so went for a look. Lovely ground and lovely folk. Card payment for entry also good to see. Foresters Park is well worth a visit and Tranent will be a good solid addition to the Lowland League. Kilby will be right up challenging the B teams for the title
DrewDon
Celtic 2-0 Norwich at Parkhead. Can I justify my attendance by claiming that I was researching for next Sunday? Probably not. Bit of a non-event, really. Celtic were the better team and deserved to win. Norwich had a couple of promising moments but didn't create much of note.
Crow
RB Leipzig 0-5 Liverpool @ Red Bull Arena on Thursday night. Mo Salah with an early goal before new signing Darwen Nunez came on at half time and run riot . Really impressive ground and tickets 🎟 great value ... adults €10 & €5 for the wee man. Craig fae the Vale
Partick Thistle Women 2-0 Kilmarnock Women. An enjoyable preseason game. Thistle the better side and deserving of their win, but Kilmarnock from.the division below gave a good account of themselves.
Andy groundhopper
Went to the Steven MacMillan games at Stoneyburn today, Harthill v Airdrie u20, a decent game with the youngsters coming to terms playing against grown men.Chances at both ends 4-2. Then the final Stoneyburn v Armadale, bit scrappy at times, always felt the visitors would win -so a good effort by the hosts to win 3-1. Enjoyable day out.
Crow
Civil Service Strollers 2-1 Rangers B @ Christie Gillies Park 🏝 on Friday night. The 2022-23 Lowland League season got underway with the Strollers coming from behind to win thanks to 2 x brilliant left footed Euan Valentine free kicks and a strong defensive performance. Crow
Leith Athletic 1-0 Edinburgh United @ Meadowbank Stadium 🏟 on Saturday. A decent pre-season friendly at the refurbished Meadowbank. The home side edged it with a bit of a bizarre goal in the 2nd half with the ball taking a strange bounce over the keeper. Excellent programme. Crowd 101. atfccfc
Cowdenbeath V Open Goal Broomhill. Lowland league. 3-0 to Broomhill. 464 fans. £10 to get in and £3 for a very good programme. A first visit to Central park since April 1994. In which I seen the home side continue a long record of not winning at home against Queen's Park (1-1) I noticed Cowdenbeath had started the season poorly, after falling out of the league. I was thinking it was mainly to do with it being League cup games. But they looked really poor in this match against an experienced Broomhill side, who simply played them off the park. A well deserved win for Broomhill. A lot of work to do for Cowdenbeath.

The Cowden programme was the best in L2 and it's good to see the standard being kept up
