That said though, I'm not particularly enjoying this. It's my first time drinking a Düsseldorf Altbier. The taste is slightly too strong. Best getting Schumachers if you can. Not sure how well it travels mind.

I don't think that I've seen any other Altbier across here before. It's mostly just Bavarian Helles and Dunkelbier types in my local shops.

FUN FACT: This is the beer that Bill Cosby drinks while driving an ambulance in 70s movie Mother, Jugs and Speed. It's also the beer that Harry Bosch always picks up after a hard shift in the Michael Connolly books.
Eednud
Lager Italiana from local brewer Pirate Life’s, Not quite a Peroni, Moretti or Ichnusa but it’s definitely no bad. Will buy again.
Craig the Hunter
Officially on annual leave now. Finished work 90 minutes before Mrs The Hunter so took myself to Mozza at Silverburn for lunch. Thought I'd get a wee half pint to go with my lunch. Angela Poretti is a palatable wee lager. Probably on a par with Peroni and Moretti in the Italian lager stakes.

Keg is filled with a Czech Pilsner. I am extremely intrigued

I will at some point install a proper stainless steel font on top, but for now lager will be dispensed using the "party tap" which is the wee black thing hanging down that isnt currently connected....

centralTon
'Tis a dear pint.It really depends what your preference is? Personally, I would rather pay a premium for a quality beer that has flavour, body and possibly a higher volume, but I understand that’s not for everyone.
