What Are You Drinking ?

Recommended Posts

Had to traipse all the way over to the dirty wee Port yesterday to get a second go at the Aldi beer festival; luckily the selection and picks were worth the horrendous experience of being in Port Glasgow.
The Roisin tayberry beer was excellent, nice and tart flavour while still being beer and not being ridiculously fizzy. Hopefully they will make it at least a semi-regular although there can't be too many tayberries kicking around to produce a lot of it. The Fierce pilsner is tasty and there's a smoked chipotle porter waiting for later as well.
I'm not always a fan of fruit beers but agree with you on the Roisin Tayberry - lovely and fruity but still very much a beer. Similarities with Ruby Leffe.

A passion fruit and lime gose. Tart and refreshing. Very nice, but at £4.50 a can it fucking should be.

Had that last week. Was a good beer but didnt ge tthe grape/wine flavour reputed from Nelson. Your thoughts?

No, I didn't get much grape from it either. More passion fruit for me. Enjoyable beer but yeah, not what I was expecting from Nelson.

Turns out, according to Untappd, I've had this one before and forgotten about it. Not complaining though, it's a cracker.

This is exceptional from Overtone. 11% but smooth as you like.

I think it's my first experience of cryo hops and if this is the standard then I'm all for it.

Brewdog v Evil Twin Roaster Coaster *checks notes* Nitro Imperial Vietnamese Coffee Stout.

Normally I'm hostile to Brewdog and all who sail in her but this is a very nice beer. Ridiculously smooth and the 9% alcohol just makes it taste like a strong coffee.

A quality, KWALITY black lager. I had this on draught in Eastern Germany and was intrigued. Then it became a "craft style" for a while then not when pishy NEIPAs became king. None of the craft jobs came close.

It's tremendous!

Decided to try the lite version which is same alcohol content 4.5% but 70% less carbs. No bad but the other is a better no bad.

Had that on draught in a bar in Hamburg a couple of years ago, outstanding.
