What Are You Drinking ?

Overtone put out a statement earlier this week saying the experimental yeast strain was causing secondary fermentation at room temperature, resulting in excessive carbonation. It was in my cupboard for 2 and a half weeks at that point. Oops. Still tastes fantastic, just a bit lively!

Barley Griffin Pale Ale from BentSpoke Brewing in Canberra. Good tasting, slightly cloudy Australian Pale Ale at 4.2%. Like the play on words for the beer name. Walter Burley Griffin was an American architect who designed Canberra when chosen to be the site of Australia’s capital some years after Federation. Lake Burley Griffin is named after him.

From Willie the Boatman, a brewery in St Peters, one of the suburbs next to Sydney Airport is Albo Corn Ale. It’s named after Anthony Albanese, leader of the opposition in federal parliament. Beer is supposedly based on corn ales produced in US during the prohibition era. This Albo has more going for it than the real Albo and wins my vote. #grabawillie according to the can.
