What Are You Drinking ?

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys for the heads-up on the Lidl beer festival. I headed to my local shop at lunchtime today but because it's being renovated they didn't appear to be taking part and just had their usual collection. I did pick up a brochure though to see what I was missing.

Anyway, enjoying this 'juicy lager' although it's a bit more like a IPA.20210730_194137.jpg

A reasonable selection in Lochee's Lidl this morning. All the usual suspects, ie, 71, Drygate, Williams Brothers, Loch Lomond, Stewart Brewing and Edinburgh Beer Factory.

I picked up a few random tins and bottles for this evening.

Time to crack open the first beer from my Lidl haul.

Hmmm, I normally like Drygate but I'm not convinced by this. It has a pretty weak flavour. You can taste the raspberry but this is nothing like a Belgian framboise. I'm glad that I only picked up one of these.

Pleasant enough, but far from Williams Brothers best.

Williams brothers have lost it. I love Seven Giraffes and Caesar Augustus, but some of their more recent offerings have been utterly fucking insipid.

Flavourly email me almost every day. I'm not usually interested, but the other day they sent me an offer of 32 beers (16 different ones) for £40. I'd only tried two of them before so thought I'd try it. First one tried is this one from Hilden. Pretty good, very reminiscent of a Belgian blonde.
