What Are You Drinking ?

That doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship with alcohol tbh. If you literally can’t stop after having a single beer you might need to seek help.

Maybe not, but on the odd occasions I do drink now I know that I'll most likely want another. If there was only one can I probably wouldn't bother, unless it was after cutting the grass or something.

Fair enough. I just like the taste of beer, so could happily have one watching the football or whatever and not be desperate to rifle through any more.

The thought of excess turns me off as much as having one these days. I'm much more selective about who with, when, how much and what. Lack of those in the distant past were the issues me and many others would've had.

Not what I am drinking just yet, but just bottled 5 gallon of California Common which taste decent, and more excitingly just lobbed a vodka tincture of tonka beans into a stout which already has coffee beans, and will soon also be furnished with cocoa nibs. The "3 bean stout" if you will.

As an aside for those that are into cooking, I think tonka is mainly for dessert usage but get some. They smell absolutely fucking sensational

An early cheeky beer to the evening.  If this stuff is on tap in Latvia (which it must be, Shirley?) then I'm extremely tempted to visit any former Soviet town in the arse end of nowhere that might sell it.  Or hopefully Riga.  Preferably Riga.

8/10  (and I don't dish out 8s willy-nilly, although online reviews suggest that I hold this in greater regard than most)

Got this lined up for later.  Still decent stuff, but has nothing on the aforementioned heavier amber version IMO.

Pleased to report you CAN get it on tap in Riga although it's not as ubiquitous as Aldaris which I suppose is their Tennent's equivalent and can be had virtually anywhere.

Gösser Radler - SUB Keg

Popped this beauty in the Sub this morning and it's now ready for pouring.

Included a Gösser Zwickl keg in this order - anyone had that one and if so, is it decent?

Yeah the Zwickl is excellent, one of the best I've had on the Sub. Not had many Zwickl or Keller beers before other than Wild West, it's quite similar to that if you've had it before.

I've got the 2020 Kompaans Bock going in the Sub tonight. 7.5% so just having a small glass tonight and will stretch the rest out over the weekend. 4 pints of that in one sitting and I'd be waking up the neighbours singing about Yogi Hughes.

Another really good one from Polly's tonight. Really impressed with everything I've drank from them.

Had a Simply the Manifest carton from the boozer a few weeks ago and it was great.

The Kompaans torp was a disaster - faulty, wouldn't stop pouring so had to bin. Expecting a refund. Decent bock beer though.

Having a Krusovice Cerne torp just now. Halfway between a lager and a stout I'd say.
