Generally jealous as f**k of your access to quality German beers. However, lastnight I managed to get my wee paws on some Augustiner Helles, and some sort of Munich Pilsner whose name I forget. These are different level lagers.

The makings of a potential German style pilsner are currently sat in my garage and I now feel inspired.

Where do folk that but German Beer online get it from? Specifically @KnightswoodBear who I remember being excited over a box of Augustiner not so long ago...

Paulaner Helles is £2.50 a bottle in my local Marks & Spencer food hall.

I picked up some Krombacher and also a couple of bottles of Paulaner Oktoberfest at Majestic the other day. They have cases of Paulaner Helles too. Was hoping for a bit more variety but at least I know theres somewhere near me I can get some quality lagers.

I was in Bremen a few years ago and I ended up in some micro brewery in the old town called Schuttinger.

The bar is in a rustic cellar where you sit next to some copper vats.

The Helles and Dunkel biers there were excellent.

c***s have it well sussed over there. I am currently undergoing an equipment upgrade at Bäirnardos Brauhaus in an attempt to channel my inner German over the winter months.
