I’ve been watching rugby since 1982. We had a combined 3 wins away to England and France until this year in that time, I’ll take this year to be honest

I think that Dave Cherry might be my new favourite player.

I'm sure he was playing in the French 5th division a few years ago. 30 years old as well. Legend.

It's always great to see a good hooker !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A friend told me that 😉

We've been kinda blessed over the years, chief

Aye, 4th level with Stade Nicois. Decent quality at that level, very fighty too.

Well he's taken his chance so fair fucks to him. Hooker is quite a weak spot for the Lions as well...

Very much a missed opportunity.

On one hand we were shite in the Ireland game but they scored a try that wasn't a try and a concussed Russell cost us a few points. Outplayed though so fair enough.

Wales though...... Gary Graham taking the ball from Cummings and a TMO that only saw Scottish infringements fucked us. Still hurting.

The main thing is our pack matches anyone and we now go into every game with a good chance to win.

Agreed, the expectation needs to meet the reality of how good we are now. Need to be near our best more consistently and can the chat of learning lessons and getting better.

That said it's a massive missed opportunity, a couple of teams on a real downswing and could have done better. Still, will take wins at Twickenham and Paris any day

That is absolutely glorious. Magic finish from Duhan VDM.

Damien Penaud should have booted the ball out the park but played on and lost a penalty instead so we have him to thank to an extent. However the work to find the win was excellent.

Nice are quite a decent team too. Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the professional ranks next season. Topping the table of a league that have a few former Top 14 teams in it. Definitely a team to look out for.

Dulin wasn't it? Karma for his shitehawkery at the Russell red.

I'm not quite as old as you, but I'm still old enough to remember the grainy clips of Jim Telfer's try in Paris being shown every two years.

I just need to see a win in SA, and a win against NZ anywhere.

I take it Gatland's excuse will change from you have to win away to you have to win at home

No, it will change to having to win in front of a hostile crowd.

You don't have to go far back on this thread to find folk saying Scotland haven't made progress under Townsend.

Away wins in Wales, England and France inside 6 months, back-to-back 6 Nations wins against the best French team in a decade, first time we've won in London and Paris in the same season since 1926 and literally one tap-tackle (or non-shite referee) from winning the Six Nations, away win against Australia, a monstering of Australia at home, an oh-so-close against New Zealand and a winning record against England over 4 years. And all while playing really watchable rugby.

Do they not remember the previous 16 years?

We should be sucking every scrap of enjoyment from this time, because when this generation goes we might have another couple of decades in the wilderness.

The top four teams in the tournament can all say that. Incredibly fine margins and nobody was on the right side of all of them.

The look in Hogg's eye during the interview... I can't wait for next season.
