HibeeJibee
Scotland 12-50 Wales Took in this Rugby League European Cup match at Netherdale this evening. These days the Four Nations has been scrapped so this tournament no longer provides a route for someone to test themselves against the 'big 3', but it now doubles-up as a part of European qualifying for Rugby League World Cup 2021. Top 2 finishers qualify automatically, and the others drop to playoffs. Both teams lost heavily to Ireland and France last weekend and needed a win to keep title and top 2 hopes alive. Scotland made a bright start and scored 2 well-taken tries in the opening minutes to lead 12-0. Wales then failed with a couple of attacks and the hosts looked in control. In the last part of the half Wales took more of a grip and scored twice but missed each conversion. HT came with the Scots feeling bullish. Whatever was in the oranges certainly swung the game as the second half was all Wales, barely punctuated by even a Scots attack, as they ran in try after try often with consummate ease... Sad to see how far Scottish rugby league has fallen from such recent heights.
David990
Didn’t even realise RL Internationals were on. Not very well advertised. Outside of the M62 corridor are there any big clubs around? Ev n in Scotland I can’t remember seeing much in the way of league.
ajwffc
The English media have been talking about the All Blacks showing Japan a lack of respect in the past week. As they have left a 2nd string side in Japan for the match today that the All Blacks won 69-31.

Next time they should let the B squad face England and put 80 on them.

It must be nice being English and having so little wrong with your own nation’s rugby that you can start telling New Zealander’s how to run theirs
Nutz_the_Squirrel
Folks- what's the chances of getting six nations tickets for Murrayfield nearer the time at a non ridiculous rate? Anyone previously got them from gumtree or equivalent? Prices from ticket tout websites are a fucking disgrace.
GAD
Scotland struggling here. Wales going forward with the ball fairly easily, we are giving away far too many penalties, especially on our own ball.
GAD
Shooting ourselves in the foot all over the park here. Turning over our own scrum with an early shove then 30 seconds later it's a try. Even at this stage an 11 point gap looks big.
Jaggy Snake
No shock that Huw Jones can't tackle. We've been rubbish so far.

Jaggy Snake
The referee should just have stopped the game immediately when Ken Owens took that hit to the head. Raynal is useless though, missed two obvious knock ons right in front of him, and needed his touch judges to tell him. We've been sloppy, given away too many penalties and turnovers. It's preventing us from building anything and really getting into the game. Edited November 3, 2018 by Jaggy Snake
GAD
We were much better after the Welsh try, but still too many mistakes. Watson throwing the ball away, and Price's grubber to nobody to gift Wales the ball back right at the end the most memorable ones. Think we are probably a bit lucky to be only 4 down, it needs a real improvement in the second half. John Lambies Doos
Earn the right to go wide by phased play and I think we can win this. We have better players imo but have a mental block in Cardiff. Glasgow and Edinburgh regularly beat these players...
Jaggy Snake
Two rucks in two minutes, a Welsh player goes off his feet, plays the ball and the referee just shouts at him until he lets it go. How about just awarding the penalty? Edit: That's 3 now! Just ridiculous. Edited November 3, 2018 by Jaggy Snake

Clearly grabbed it off his feet and held it to waste time to let their defensive line reset.

Jaggy Snake
Our maul was going nowhere there, we had the ball at the back and Price messed about instead of the playing the ball. Really stupid mistakes. Edited November 3, 2018 by Jaggy Snake
