Marshmallo
This'll be the only game I watch tonight. It's a real shame these two have to meet at this stage, could easily see both reaching the last 8 with better draws. -
The Naitch
I've gone for Winstanley in this one too, just hope the crowd aren't too much of a factor. Edited December 18, 2012 by The Naitch
The Naitch
Thank fuck that Merv has dropped the Michael Jackson music.
The Naitch
That was a great first set from Winstanley.
Marshmallo
Worst crowd of the tournament thus far tonight. -
The Naitch
Couple of slack double attempts from Deano, that should have been 2-0.
Davis Love III
Strange moment in the last leg there. Winstanley threw 20/5/15 and Russ Bray called 30, which was then officially noted down. No questions from Deano, who seems to have lost a bit of his composure up there.
The Naitch
Brilliant 140 from Merv, only he would go down the 16s route to check that one out.
The Naitch
This match has gone along at a fair pace, last set decider coming up.

Gritty.
The Naitch
Deano was 2-0 down in that set, we've got ourselves a tie breaker now. Really no less than this match deserves, it's been fantastic to watch.
tigerton
Sky gave this match the big licks before it started, glad it's live up to expectations! Could it go 5-5?
Fraser Fyvie
Brilliant match. Whenever one player starts off the leg with a poor score they're being punished instantly. Up and down like a hedgehog in a hammock, to quote Mr Sid Waddell.
The Naitch
That was amazing. Just amazing.
tigerton
Superb stuff. Credit to Merv, he took that very graciously there. Harsh harsh draw.
F_T_Y
Winstanley seems to thrive under pressure.
Davis Love III
Wonderful entertainment, with a lovely big sweaty embrace to polish it off. It was always going to be unfortunate for either player should they lose, given the draw, but it is what it is, and with Deano to face Vincent van der Voort/Stuart Kellett he'll fancy his chances of at least making the 3rd Round, where he'd face Wade/Beaton. In fact, at this stage, you'd probably make Winstanley the favourite to make the Quarters from that section.
Desert Nomad
Classic stuff there, not always high quality, but high drama. If Winstanley can be just a little more consistent, i.e. stop hitting ones, he could do a bit of damage.
Davis Love III
In fact, looking at that quarter of the draw, it's a huge opportunity for so many players to make the Semi Finals. Definitely the friendliest quadrant to be in. (Unless you are Mervyn King.) Round 2 W Newton vs K Huybrechts/S Rand J Pipe/A Jenkins vs M Walsh/D Webster J Wade vs S Beaton D Winstanley vs V Voort/S Kellett

Definitely the friendliest quadrant to be in. (Unless you are Mervyn King.) Yep, that was always going to be the most open Quarter. At least six of them are capable of coming out on top and getting to the last four.
