I have bets on Fleetwood, Sunjae Im (EW) and Matt  Fitzpatrick (EW) so looking forward to this evening's viewing and glad Im got off to a decent start.

Would like to echo the previous post on Beem, fantastic presence on the broadcast. McGinley is pretty painful.

Edit to add: The green at 17 looks awful considering the overall nick of the course.

Looks like the Masters isn't happening either:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/51875513

This article says both "cancelled" and "postponed" so not entirely clear if it's not happening or they're going to try and rearrange it.

Edit: Quote in article says postpone. FS BBC

Biggest problem with Augusta is that the course turns brown in the summer, and there is no way that AGNC will allow that to be shown on TV. Because of that and the heat it usually closes from May to October anyway. That would mean they would have to wait until October/November for it to regain it's colour. That's it then holding the Masters twice in 5 or 6 months, and it's hard to see the members accepting that too.

And the Ryder Cup being moved to 2021

That will actually work out better long term, gets it back on odd years and keeps it away from Olympic years.

ETA: both the European and US Ryder Cup Twitter accounts dismissed the reports as inaccurate.

Good thing about having a hobby like golf. You can still socially distance on the course and keep playing, until we go into full lockdown.

Our course have made the hole only an inch deep to make retrieving the ball nice and easy without touching anything but your ball, and all bunkers are out of play to stop the need for rakes.

Our bunkers have been GUR anyway due to the amount of rain, so they are a bit behind with some of the maintenance and one of the jobs still to be done is topping up the sand levels, so they will just keep the GUR status until further notice.

They have also put the cups in upside down so you don't have to go fishing for your ball. I don't usually get to play many comps until the football season is done, but we have a Stableford tourney on Saturday, looking forward to it as the forecast is decent.

I do fear that lockdown isn't too far away though, but imo we could still play even if the clubhouse has to be closed.

My course still has bunkers in play but all the rakes are removed. Players are expected to smooth sand with club and foot after playing the bunker shot. Pins are not to be removed and we’ve been told not to touch other players’ balls (ooh err matron!)
