Made players walk the plank the last year, just to sell them out. Nuts.
Ro Sham Bo
Wow. Looking forward to hearing player and media reaction to this as they try and convince us all that LIV have always had the right idea all along.

funky_nomad
Does this mean we might have to put up with the future possibility of "Poults" as a future Ryder Cup captain? f**k... (Also, I wonder what Stenson's thinking right now?)

Apparently Yasir Al-Rumayyan will become chairman of the newly merged, FOR-PROFIT entity. Jay Monahan will become CEO (twitter source so take it with a pinch of salt). No mention of Norman (which is good). Would have prefered if Monahan was out also. Edited June 6, 2023 by Angus_Don

Bring Back Paddy Flannery
I’m really scratching my head over this. Absolutely bizarre stuff after everything that’s been going on. I’m eagerly awaiting what guys like Rory have to say about this and finding out what led to this happening completely out the blue.
sparky88
I suspected at some point the players that didn't jump ship to LIV would be sold out but this is just spectacular. Edited June 6, 2023 by sparky88
Honest_Man#1
Can’t believe this. Surely there’s got to be some nuclear level seethe incoming from the players who stuck around.
Central Belt Caley
For the PGA to have such a dramatic turnaround either: - more of the big hitters have threatened to walk away (Rahm, Mcilory etc) or - Liv have offered them a silly amount of cash
TheGoon
This is why they’re going to buy more brands/sports. Players can’t walk away if there’s nowhere to go.
bobbydazzler
Monahan needs to go after his 9/11 chat last year and now all rosy with the Saudis
pozbaird
Couldn’t really give a fcuk anymore about professional golf. It’s so far up its own arse now that its inside-out. As long as this announcement doesn’t affect my seniors singles matchplay tie at Kirky’ next week, then whatever. Bunch of shysters.
Sherrif John Bunnell
This is just the beginning for the Saudis. I won't be surprised if the European Super League comes back on the agenda with a pile of Saudi cash behind it. They can't have their Newcastle team slumming it in Luton when they could be playing Real Madrid in Jeddah instead

Weird.........talking with a buddy a couple of hours ago about getting tickets for Scottish Open next month. He was back on the phone 15 mins. ago to say "Forget it." I feel the same way. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/jun/06/pga-tour-liv-golf-and-dp-world-tour-agree-to-make-shock-merger "LIV Golf rebels have a route back towards the traditional tours and the Ryder Cup from next season after the PGA and DP World Tours joined forces with the Saudi Arabian-backed enterprise in one of the most extraordinary truces in sporting history. The shock announcement, delivered on Tuesday, will see the Saudi public investment fund pour money in a new company that will effectively control top-level golf. Ongoing litigation between LIV and the PGA Tour – for so long sworn enemies – has come to an abrupt and shocking end." D Angelo Barksdale
A step closer to a proper World Tour hopefully and a loosening of American hegemony over pro golf. But, a monumental shitting of the bed by Monagan over the last 18 months
