Really enjoyed watching the Solheim Cup so far. Have to say there is something a bit dull about the FedEx final stuff. Not sure how they make it a better watch though. The golf is really high quality but it’s a tournament where unless there is some really bizarre stuff very few of field have any chance of winning right from the outset. In contrast the Solheim Cup has been a brilliant watch.

Makes bringing the 30 best players from the season together completely pointless. Waiting for Cantlay to miss a shot in this form was mildly more entertaining than watching paint dry. Must be a better way of doing things.

Biggest problem now is that the majority of the field have no chance of winning right from the start. The guys starting on level or minus one could have hit 4 x 66s and still been miles short of the leaders.

14 Scots in the field for this week's BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

In the Ryder Cup standings Garcia leapfrogged both Wiesberger and Perez to move into the spot just below automatic qualifying. Fleetwood also moved up a couple of spots on the world list, but he is already locked in on the Euro points list. Lowry the man with most to lose at Wentworth.Screenshot_20210906-144317_Chrome.jpg

Can’t see Bob or Dundee Victor making it automatically
Not even sure if a win this week would be enough either points wise or to convince Harrington to pick them. I'm 99% sure that Garcia, Poulter and Stenson get the wildcards, unless Lowry drops out of the automatic spots then he gets the nod ahead of Stenson imo.

Struggling to listen to those crowds. Turned it off for now and when I watch later it's going to be with the sound muted.

If you think this crowd is bad, wait till Whistling Straits.

Re the tour championship, the handicapping really does make it pretty much a non event.

I guess for tv purposes they wouldn’t do it but surely a seeded match play format is the fairest way if they want to do it, if they still want to have the build up tournaments start with 128 then to 64 then a final 32. If you want to give people a hole of or two of a start based on their season rankings then fair enough.

Someone will no doubt tell me why they won’t or can’t do it but it would surely make more sense, nothing quite beats the drama of a match play situation (which Rahm vs Cantlay was ultimately over the last few holes).
