lionel hutz
I did my first Tour de Tay on Tuesday and suffered a nasty crash 20km in, fortunately I stuck in the saddle and got away with a cut chin and two badly bruised wrists.
Desert Nomad
Been clocking up a few kms recently, good 50km ride up towards Glenisla from Blairgowrie this evening, the roads round here are made for cycling, back-breaking wee climbs everywhere. One thing I've found is my lower back gets a little painful, nothing too bad, but a pain nonetheless. Assuming it's ride position, possibly need to increase saddle height?

If you've never had a proper bike fit I'd highly recommend it. Myself and most of my cohort have been going to Nick McCue in Bathgate. http://www.hookedoncycling.eu/specialised-services/bike-fitting-service/ He's not a red dot and laser guy but he does take dozens of measurements with his ruler. The red dots and lasers no doubt work but I've had the impression some of the folk doing it aren't actually looking at you - just following the training manual. Nick is a cycling nut who really knows his stuff. Costs about £50 plus anything you need - almost definitely some sort of shims for your shoes - perhaps a new stem but IMO well worth it. Of course my missus who is a fitness instructor would say - sore back eh? That's because you have poor core strength and no tummy muscles - but I prefer to spend the £50.
Fifespud
I'll tweak saddle height and possibly handlebars as well. If you go and see Nick I'll bet he puts the saddle up at least an inch, probably 2 and possibly 3-4 - it's incredible how low a lot of folk have their saddles. Once you've put it up wrap some insulating tape round the post where it meets the bike - that way you will have a mark where it is if you ever need to move it again.

Bathgate is a bit off the beaten track for me but the info is most welcome.
broon-loon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAl_5e7bIHk DN, this (or some of the others listed) may help? I looked some time ago and found some hints, but there are some conflicting opinions... At least they're free....
Unleash The Nade
After much deliberation and research, I've decided to treat myself to a new bike. Opted for the new 2016 Specialized Tarmac Comp and will upgrade with Roval 35mm aero wheels. Should look the biz and hopefully live up to all the great reviews Edited August 18, 2015 by Unleash The Nade

Count Mongo del Fantastico
Having done feck all in over a month, I went for a quick 8 mile jaunt in EK today. 3 new personal bests in some of the segments on Strava. I may not be as unfit as I believed myself to be (though I'm still miles away from any reasonable declaration of actually being fit)
The Master
Is there any pain worse than cracking your shin off a pedal as you're pushing your bike along? I seem to have developed a habit for it recently.
broon-loon
Cycled to work this morning (9.64 miles) after a 7 week absence due to holidays, weather and lethargy. Gonna take my preferred route home which is a bit longer (approx'13.5 miles), but it ain't gonna be fast...... It was a bit overcast and damp this morning but virtually no wind which is always a bonus for an oldie like me...
Dindeleux
I'm sitting at 500 miles for the year which I'm pretty disappointed with. Started late and just haven't really been as keen as last year. I'm doing a charity thing tomorrow - cycling from Glasgow city centre to Ben Lomond, climbing the mountain, and then cycling back for the Beatson charity in Glasgow. If you're interested in sponsoring me drop me a PM.
Unleash The Nade
We having made up my mind which new bike I was going for, I went to the shop, saw another and totally changed my mind. Now the proud owner of these Biuanchi Intenso with Dura Ace & Ultegra and upgraded wheels to Mavic Ksyrium Elite S  -
