die hard doonhamer
125-9 now, lead of 6. Spineless.
HTG
England completely unable to adapt. Cannae bat, bowl or field. Doing ok apart from that.
Jupiter Jazz
Another vote here for Morgan in to captain. It's a mess all round but what is the need for Foakes if Bairstow and Buttler are playing? Dinnae get it.
die hard doonhamer
Campbell finishes it with a six. West Indies win by 10 wickets.
Guest Moomintroll
Performance is fucking disgusting. A shower of cowardly cheats. I accepted collapses like this when pish in early nineties not now. A weak captain, a coach on his way out. Get Morgan in to captain, average not the best bit worth it for his leadership skills. Feeble, weak b*****d. Given how bad the supposed red ball specialist batsmen are, they would be as well as throwing Roy, Morgan and Hales in. They will go in just as many balls but will score 2 or 3 times more runs in the process. Utter shambles of a tour and Root has to accept he is not captaincy material and just concentrate on being the world class batsman he is.
Savage Henry
Writing off Root way too quickly. He’s an excellent player with a top notch attitude. Could certainly grow into the position - like Smith did for the Australians. I don’t think Foakes glovework justifies his mediocre bat. I’d be inclined to drop him. What else to do, I don’t know. The problem is that the top three are out for 55 too often. Not sure Morgan is really test class, and in fact he’s said so himself. Can’t magic up new, better players. Still, I wouldn’t put the Ashes beyond this side, because they’re actually pretty decent in English swinging conditions. Burns is probably one of the openers, but I genuinely can’t think of anyone else.

Haseeb if they can get his dad into the sea, it is getting to the stage that 2nd XI players will come to the fore as they are the only batsmen who are getting red ball experience in mid season when the 1st Class players are all tied up with 50 over and T20 stuff.
peasy23
Decent game in the ODI between NZ and India. India scored 252, and if looked like any chance the Kiwis had had gone when we Grandhomme went at 135-6. Neesham then keep them in it before getting himself inexplicably run out. 189/7 now with 10 overs left.
peasy23
And as soon as I post they lose a wicket.
peasy23
Looks like game over now as Santner holes out to the only fielder on the leg side, 204/9.
btb
Tony Greig, Colin Graves, Mark Nicholas, Geoffrey Boycott & all the other English cricketers who played in Apartheid South Africa, Douglas Jardine, W.G. Grace - can you hear me? Theresa May, your boys took one hell of a beating! Your boys took one hell of a beating! Bully Wee Villa
A fair few West Indians played in Apartheid South Africa, too.

peasy23
Jason Holder banned from the final test due to the Windies slow over rate in the second test. It's not the first time he has been banned for the same thing.
peasy23
Foakes left out of the 12 for the final test, with Woakes injured. Jennings back in and hints are he will open with Denly dropping to 3. Stokes has a bruised heel but makes the 12 after getting through training today.

I think the Bairstow at three experiment is over. Unless it isn’t, and Denly bats at 6.

Savage Henry
BurnsJenningsDenlyRootButtlerBairstowStokesThen whatever bowlers they pick? Yeah. Seems reasonable. But I think the selection has lost any kind of focus. Time for coaching changes, I reckon. Edit: if that team isn’t 55/3 at some point I will be staggered.
peasy23
Yeah. Seems reasonable. But I think the selection has lost any kind of focus. Time for coaching changes, I reckon. Definitely. How you get to the point where you have nearly as many wicket keepers as specialist batsmen in the team is beyond me. Interestingly, Cook was interviewed earlier and didn't rule out ever playing for England again.
jaggyness
Interesting listening to Atherton on how a test team should be set up, all rounder at 6 wk at 7. The discussion then moved to bairstow being too good a batsman to run out of partners. If that is the case then play bairstow at 6 then you have Stokes, Ali and Curran all still to come who can bat
