booitsme7
James Anderson has now past the highest total for a England number 11 beating John Snow 59* against West Indies in 1966.
booitsme7
This partnership for England is a record for the 10th wicket against India in test matches beating the 70 put on by Bob Willis and Paul Allott at Lord's in 1982. It is now the best 10th wicket partnership for England beating Tip Foster & Wilfred Rhodes 130 v Australia in 1903.

craigkillie
No number 11 has ever made a century...
jmothecat
Going to miss the afternoon session. Hopefully Anderson can do it. After coming so close to keeping Sri Lanka out at Headingley it would be fantastic for him to become the first number 11 to get a century.
die hard doonhamer
I'm at work today and checked the score on my lunch to see if any Indian wickets had fallen yet. Incredible scenes reading the updates. Come on Jimmy, hope he does it.

Lex
Quite amusing to watch Andersons emotions during an exchange with Cook over field positioning there. A shake of the head and a roll of the eyes from the bowler. It seems pretty clear Jimmy has no respect whatsoever for Cooks captaining abilities.
Mark Connolly
Can someone explain why that was a dead ball? It seemed to nick the bat and go for 4 - would it have been a dead ball if he had been caught?
Bearwithme
Good start to the day. Hopefully it'll continue to be an interesting one though I'm not entirely confident.

It seemed to nick the bat and go for 4 - would it have been a dead ball if he had been caught? You can only get leg byes if you are playing a shot. In this case, it was deemed that the player was not playing a shot. Which he clearly was, despite what the commentators said. It came off his chest guard rather than his bat, I think.
