kullibino
Anyone seen much of Mendis?Looks like he's smashing India again.
Shengus Khan
Anyone seen much of Mendis?Looks like he's smashing India again. I've only read bits and pieces about him. He seems to be quite a player though. He sends down both leg and off spin and already has his first ten wicket haul. Imagine having him bowling at one end and Murali at the other. We should get a good look at him next summer when Sri Lanks tour England.
kullibino
He bowls offspin really, but bowls a ball called a 'Carrom ball' that looks like an offie but goes the other way. It's bowled from the thumb and middle finger with a flick. Better description than mines. EDIT - re next summer, If i were england I'd be leaving a mighty amount of grass on the wickets, however no doubt they'll produce 5 (or 4) turners. kullibino
And now we see the danger of obly picking 5 people who can bat. SA are right back in this now. Ambrose days are numbered, and I can't see Strauss playing ahead of Vaughan come the first test in India.

KiwiDB
Now the 1 day series is over, how does everyone think Pietersen is doing as captain... I'm not talking about results but his actual captaincy style etc.
capybara
I think he is doing a god job. Always looks easier when you are wining. He has on the whole continued to make runs & even bowl a bit. He has motivated the squad, they were becoming stale. Bringing Harmison out of retirement was mainly down to him. A team led by him will be no push overs. On the down side im not sure if he knows what his best line up is yet,and you can only experiment so long. Im impressed.
kullibino
I've been impressed, much tougher tests to come in the next 12 months though.
capybara
Gough played his last 1st class game, not going to be risked in Yorkshire,s last game. Good player in his day and fully fit. Happy retirement.
Fuctifano
County Championship going down to the wire- Durham slight favourites at the moment but Notts, and arithmetically, Somerset, not out of it yet. I'm not going to Livi so reckon I'll end up watching some of this tomorrow.

Yeah, that's exactly the squad I thought they'd take. The Development squad looks pretty strong this year, lets hope 2-3 really kick on.

Shengus Khan
Just been on the T20 website looking for tickets and noticed that all the games are either in London or at Trent Bridge. That's a bit shit is it not? Surely it couldn't have hurt too much to send a couple of games north to Old Trafford or the Riverside

It'll be my very first cricket match Edited October 9, 2008 by Shengus Khan
