Could potentially still go to net run rate. If we lose to Oman and they lose to Bangladesh then we'll all be on 2 wins.

Good point. We could do with hammering PNG.

And seeing Oman beating Bangladesh (unlikely, I know).

Fantastic result and performance though, against aside that is beating the big boys (and England) on a regular basis.

It's probably worth emphasising that Bangladesh

- are the 6th ranked side in the world.

- recently had series wins against both Australia and New Zealand.

- were expected to absolutely stroll this group.

That really is a superb victory, and will make a lot of people pay attention to us.

The biggest difference between Scotland and Ireland when the Irish became a test nation was their wins in major tournaments when Scotland would usually bottle it (think NZ in 2008, the entire 2015 WC and 2018 vs WI). That win is massive.

The only way Scotland can get Test Status (which is the long-term aim for CS for the last 15 years) is by beating the big boys like Bangladesh in what was effectively a home game for them when it matters.

Roll on PNG.

Win the toss and bat today vs PNG. Important to win, but a big win would be enormous in terms of run rate as the group could end in a 3 way tie on 4 points.
Yeah, really have to be looking for a more convincing victory than Oman had to get our nrr up substantially. I'm still hopeful we could beat Oman, and hopefully there's a Bangladeshi backlash and they hammer them.
