They've left Ali out of the wider 22 man squad, so I doubt he'll play any part in this series. I can't see them going with 2 spinners in home conditions. He was lucky three umpire's finger didn't go up in the first over (one which West Indies reviewed, umpire's call). Which is nuts, because he’s the best spinner in the squad, by quite some distance, and he’s a great batsman when he’s on form. I've just had a flick through and the comments section is fairly positive. Ian Ward, by his own admission, probably didn’t bring much gravitas to proceedings, but he very wisely just shut up and kept the questioning to a minimum. I learnt a lot from it. English cricket is all about the ashes and I can't seen him at 34 improving and doing much against them.. His average is currently 30 before today after 14 tests. The scores haven’t been there, but the crease occupancy has.
