They are still 93 in front just now. Skittle England this morning and still have 30-40 of a lead, then bat the rest of today and part of tomorrow, have a lead of 200-220, then give themselves close to 2 sessions to bowl England out. Improbable, but given some of England's collapses on their travels certainly not impossible.
I suppose.

Unfortunately it sounds like nothing is going to happen.

England's collapse finally came as they lost the last 5 wickets for 21 runs, but for once it came after they were in the lead. 226 for Root, well supported with 75 from Pope, but once both of them fell in quick succession NZ mopped up the tail quickly to trail by 101.

England got 2 quick wickets again to have the Kiwis at 28-2, but Williamson and Taylor have rallied them to take them to 5 runs behind at the close. Heavy rain forecast to disrupt day 5 so the draw is looking likely.

Had the feeling the Kiwis were just toying with England's bowlers. Williamson go his ton, then when Taylor sensed the rain was coming he battered Root for 4, 6 and 6 to get himself over the 100 mark too. Rain stopped play, and that might be it for the day.

Match abandoned at 4pm local time, NZ winning back to back to back home Test series for the first time ever.
The Kiwis face Australia next, while England head to South Africa with the first test starting on Boxing Day.

That’s the first time against England but it’s the fifth home series NZ home series win in a row.

Managed to miss England out, but that's what I meant to post. Definitely a tough team to beat on their own patch. Wagner was given player of the series for his 13 wickets, he was impressive tbh, kept up a high level of consistency even when bowling long spells.

One thing that jumped out when they showed the all time list of Kiwi batsmen when Taylor passed 7000 runs, 4 of the top 10 are all in the current side and all average 40+.

Outside Raval their top 7 all average 40+. Australia have several that do too, Warner, Smith, Khawaja, Head, Labuschagne. India have Kohli, Pujara, Rahane, Agarwal, Sharma, Pant etc. England only have Root which shows how behind in Test Cricket England are right now.

First tour game in South Africa starts in 2 weeks ahead of a 2-month all-format tour. A lot of questions surrounding the Test selection.

Burns, Sibley, Crawley (?), Denly, Root, Stokes, Pope, Bairstow (?), Buttler, Moeen (?), Leach (?), Parkinson (?), Anderson (?), Wood (?), Archer, Broad, S Curran, Woakes (?), Mahmood (?)
