Skittle England this morning and still have 30-40 of a lead, then bat the rest of today and part of tomorrow, have a lead of 200-220, then give themselves close to 2 sessions to bowl England out. Improbable, but given some of England's collapses on their travels certainly not impossible.I suppose. peasy23 Posted December 2, 2019 Share Posted December 2, 2019 England's collapse finally came as they lost the last 5 wickets for 21 runs, but for once it came after they were in the lead. 226 for Root, well supported with 75 from Pope, but once both of them fell in quick succession NZ mopped up the tail quickly to trail by 101. England got 2 quick wickets again to have the Kiwis at 28-2, but Williamson and Taylor have rallied them to take them to 5 runs behind at the close. Williamson go his ton, then when Taylor sensed the rain was coming he battered Root for 4, 6 and 6 to get himself over the 100 mark too. Definitely a tough team to beat on their own patch. Wagner was given player of the series for his 13 wickets, he was impressive tbh, kept up a high level of consistency even when bowling long spells. Outside Raval their top 7 all average 40+. Australia have several that do too, Warner, Smith, Khawaja, Head, Labuschagne.
