Got tickets for CPL match at Kensington Oval next Thursday. Barbados Tridents v Trinbago Knightriders. Alex Hales, Jason Holder, both Bravos, Shai Hope, JP Duminy, Kieron Pollard.

$75 US a ticket on the VIP deck, includes drinks.

Should be good.

Had the pleasure of watching cricket at the Kensington Oval. Absolutely superb venue and the experience is something you don’t get anywhere else.

Also I’m pretty sure DJ Bravo is out of the CPL injured. Darren is there though. Hales hasn’t really got going yet but Pollard has been excellent, as has Duminy.

Some new rumours about the NZ Tour are:

- Buttler takes the gloves from Bairstow, who may still go as specialist batsman
- Pope and Sibley look certain to be picked
- Foakes, Crawley and Mahmood are possibilities
- Anderson, Wood and Stone are still injured
- Denly will be in both T20 and Test squads
- Tom Banton will be called up for the T20s, Sam Billings recalled

If Sibley doesn't get a chance after hitting 215no, his second double ton of the season, and also the first batsman in division one to go over 1000 runs this season, he would be as well looking for another country to play for.

Starting the obvious but what I've seen of these last two games the bowling department is a definite achilles heel.

It is unfortunate as we have a solid, aggressive top & middle order but we do have a comparatively weak bowling attack at the moment. Will win more often than not against other associate teams but will take a few high scoring poundings in next years T20 World Cup, we will be entertaining to watch though.

Much better performance from the bowlers today. Bowled Netherlands out for 122 with a run out off the last ball of the 20 overs. A much more disciplined performance.

Winner takes all in the final game off the tri-series tomorrow.

Menawhile in the other T20 tri-series Zimbabwe have taken a bit of a pasting from Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The final is in a few days and Afghanistan look set to cruise it. Rahmanullah and Hazratullah absolutely shredding Zimbabwe at the moment.

Meanwhile in the 2019-22 World ODI League 2 (which forms part of the 2023 WC qualifying) is currently on it’s second tri-series. We obviously know Scotland, Oman and PNG took part in the first one in Aberdeen. However, in Florida, the second tri-series, USA, Namibia and PNG are facing off. USA have overtaken Scotland at the top of the table after their domination of this series so far, winning 3 games out of 3. Next tri-series is in December in the UAE with Scotland and USA joining them.

Very disappointing for Scotland to lose both games to such an out of form T20 side like Ireland. What on earth was Wallace trying to do on that last ball?

Meanwhile over in Bangladesh, Zimbabwe shocked Afghanistan to win by 7 wickets with 3 balls remaining.

Very disappointing indeed. The second ball of the penultimate over looked like a fairly clear no ball to me, but you win some lose some in that regard.

Ireland obviously only won the series because of their rained off game against the Netherlands (who beat them in the other match), so it would have been interesting to see what would have happened there. But Scotland should have breezed this series on current form tbh, so hopefully they can now go on and finish the year strongly in the UAE with the T20 Qualifier and the ODI Tri-Series. All of the matches are winnable, but we need to cut out these inconsistent performances.

Moeen ruling himself out of the Test side for the Winter Tours which means Leach will probably be a mainstay.

Also was surprised Plunkett never got a contract. Certainly dipped as he’s got older and I understand they’ll be looking to build to 2023, but he’ll surely be in contention for the World T20? Especially surprising when Tom Curran still got an incremental.
