Ziggy
sorry - don't have enough greenies to give to those who did well today, which appears to be just about everyone. I did the Half in 1:58:08, which I'm happy with for my first and possibly last HM. My left achilles is screaming at me right now. How do I know it's possibly my last? I said to myself during mile 7 "if you'd been in the 10k, you'd be finished by now". I was 4046th apparently, quite chuffed with that for a Cat45 dude. I loved some of today, was neither up nor down about a chunk of it, and downright hated some other bits. Hated - Miles 4 & 5, that big long straight road before turning into Bellahouston, straight into the wind. The start of mile 8, the long drag uphill at the start of Pollok Park. Loved - the fact that I managed to pace the first couple of miles this year, so was able to actually enjoy the spectacle of running across Kingston Bridge, rather than trying to keep my lungs down like I did in last year's 10k. And, who'd've thought so many Scottish lassies had such nice arses? One outstanding display after another for the duration.. All the rest I was neither up or down about all the rest, the longer I was through the distance, the more I can't remember much about anything except keeping the rhythm going and pushing for under 2 hours. I had a good laugh with a guy (typing this knowing it's probably a "had to be there moment") just a Charing Cross - I'd been way out left, trying to pass the throng a bit, when the cones suddenly stopped being cones, and became cones with tape tied along the top. Had to hurdle to get back into the pack, which solicited a "well done big man" from the guy behind me. Lastly a question for anyone more experienced than myself - I noticed there was a magnetic reader at 10k and 15k (maybe at 5k too and I missed it) - do those splits get made available to everyone, or is it just your finish time? Well done BR. I have similar feelings about miles 5 & 8. They were my slowest. I always thought Paisley Rd West was flat but it's actually a slight incline for the whole 5th mile. Jamie_B
I did it in 2:14:49. After weeks of IT band problems I didn't get a single twinge the whole way round. Managed to pick up the pace at 10 miles in as I got there and realised I still had plenty energy!
Boghead ranter
I forgot to add the most important stat - by the time Cancer Research reclaim the GiftAid, they'll be better off by £895, thanks to the generosity of my friends, family and colleagues. That helped keep me going through the race.
Snake Plissken
Cumbernauld 10k on Sunday. Anybody doing it? . Not too difficult. Possible PBs if you do 10k's a lot Edited September 2, 2012 by Snake Plissken
Ziggy
Had to do a bit of hurdling myself. http://www.chipresults.co.uk/Default.aspx?event=2012GSRHalfMarathon Click the 'download results as pdf' for your splits. Well done. Edit - Just downloaded it and it doesn't have the splits up. Possibly be up later as that's how it says you get them. Edit - It's 'download results as csv'. I just messed about with that CSV and based on some rough calculations it looks like only 4 people overtook me in the last quarter whilst I overtook 250. I really have to stop being a shitebag and set off a bit quicker.

CowdenLoyal
My Mrs done the HM in 2:01:43 - her first attempt at any running event. Well proud of her! She has two identical HUGE blisters on both feet though, never seen the likes before. Bad news about the person that died if true. I did see a lot of paramedics sprinting down through the finished runners towards the clyde. Knew something serious happened. Shame.
CowdenLoyal
Oh and also, cannot believe the absolute ignorant, disrespectful ludites crossing the road in between runners at the right turn onto Balitir Road. I have photo evidence of one such pram pusher almost taking out my girl! Clueless.
Neefie Noodle
Well done to all that completed the 10k and HM today. The guy that got sub 40 10k and the sub 1:26 for the HM are amazing times.

diamonds2002
Managed the HM in a PB smashing 1 hour 28 mins and 27 secs! Delighted and I took 6 mins of my time from last year. Ziggy were you in your QP strip? If so you went passed me just before the entrance to Pollok Park. I hate running through Pollok park! The 1 hour 30 min pacemaker went belting past me at one point and I thought he was running far too quickly as I knew as wasnt far off my target time of 1.30. Think he must have finished a good minute ahead of me as I didnt see him at the end Oh and the club runners don't like it when you breeze past them whistling Cumbernauld 10k on Sunday. Anybody doing it? . Not too difficult. Possible PBs if you do 10k's a lot I'll be there - 3rd time in 4 years hopeful of a PB as I know the course

Yeah I was pretty near the front (I was almost late) so I got over the start line after about 10 secs. Even with this I reckon he must have finished at least 2mins 30 ahead of his "pace" time Whats the deal with recovery runs, should I be running tonight or best leave it until tomorrow? Personal thing really I am taking today off and will be back out tomorrow ahead of the cumbernauld 10k on Sunday
Boghead ranter
www.marathon-photos.com That's the official photos up. Buggers have disabled the right-click option, unlike last year. Parental Guidance Advisory if you input 15124.
