The money lender, can't be bothered to try and remember his name.

Rick. The big tough money lender with the easiest-to-walk-into office in the UK. The man with a chunky metal wall safe who kept his victims' passports in the drawer of his desk.

Classy wine tasting event in the Bistro there. Get four people from the street to sit in the very middle of the room in the middle of the afternoon and guzzle random wines until they're pissed and singing. That's how quality establishments do it.

The "I've got wood" line was the only good one of the night.

Michelle is currently top of the Stupidest Character League with her ludicrous gullibility over Robert's endless lies, especially with his previous record of such.

Cathy falling on her arse was pretty funny.

But she didn't land on Brian!

Something impressive would have to happen to mean that Craig suddenly teaching self defence wasn't the most ridiculous thing in an episode.

Gary simply moving into Rick's permanently open office and taking over the money lending business easily trumped that.

A young girl appeared and asked where her dad was; I missed how Gary handled that. Can anyone explain?

He didn't really. He explained to her that he was just a client while she inexplicably starting telling him all about her dysfunctional family life before finally wondering, again, who Gary was. It was kinda weird.

Can't see anything going wrong with that. I mean, it's not as if Rick's daughter is going to come back still looking for him, and find Gary behind the desk even though he's told her he's just a punter. Plus, once he's officially reported missing, his office is the last place the police are going to search.

Please, please just write Gary out of the show.

How awful is that Geoff controlling Yasmeen storyline?

It's lousy. And clearly going to massively escalate into yet another farce of a plot development.

At least the shady controlling/theft storyline for Geoff has made him slightly less of a bore, only slightly mind. Leanne was putting on a good front tonight.

Geoff isn't just controlling, he's a 100% pure b*****d. That escalated quickly. The next few weeks (please let it only be weeks) will be tortuous.

In fairness, the badness in Geoff has been hinted at for a while, starting with him over emphasising a leg injury so he didn’t have to do anything.  At least this story hasn’t come completely out of the blue and there was some build up. Also giving Alya more screen time which is obviously a very positive thing.

Agree on giving Alya more screen time. For me, she's the hottest woman on the street.

Absolutely. This has been simmering away for months.

There was also sabotaging Brian’s vegetables in the allotment.

All the clues are there with Geoff, a son who never learnt to read, works in a hospital as a DJ and wears a gold chain. Just waiting for him to say to Yasmeen, 'now then, now then'

And so the descent into farce continues. Tip for Gail: if you're hosting a discussion which is likely to turn acrimonious, so you institute a rule that only the person holding a particular object can speak (Lord of the Flies style), use something like Lily's teddy bear, not a large and fragile ornament which is likely to get broken as people try to snatch it from each other. As soon as she produced that I knew it was going to get smashed, though I didn't foresee it happening on the back of Audrey's the stuntwoman's head. (They didn't even try to get her hair the right colour.)

It's a shame the boys have been banged up, or next week we could have enjoyed some true Brian Rix-style fun, as Gail shuffles Nick, David and Audrey around the various rooms of the house in order to stop any two of them meeting each other, while the whole time Billy the Vicar is hiding in a cupboard with no trousers on.

Seriously though - why, during the court case, did Imran never point out that all of this was happening in David's house, so if anyone had to walk away it would be Nick and Audrey? David didn't invite his gran to the house so why should he have to walk the streets until she leaves?
