Bizarrely using sniffer dogs, despite Gerry telling us they are incredibly unreliable.
Maybe explains the unaccounted miles on the hire car though.

Eh no, it would point to it not being him if they dig her up from an allotment in Germany ffs.

I'd blame the EU if they find her there. He claimed his van had a hidey hole  just the right size for hiding a child, or a load of dope. Open borders all the way to Hanover. Very strange why he'd do it though.

You think he drove to Hannover to bury her and popped back to finish his holiday?

Why not - it's only a 54-hour round trip - plus an hour or so to dig a big hole.  He could easily have slipped away for that length of time without being noticed - it's not like all eyes were on him after all!

Imagine the tremendous crops in the intervening years, superb fertiliser that. Why do no one suspect why herr Bruckners runner beans were 20 foot tall and cropping as though in a genetic modification experiment.

With a wee sun hat on top.

Someone might have an Austrian uncle.

Quote

The man said Christian B arrived in the spring or summer of 2007 and told him he wanted to insulate a small shack which stood on a concrete base in the garden with a small cellar underneath.

At least he thought about a sun roof.

Quote

The German woman who rented her garden to Christian B in neighbouring Braunschweig told The Mirror in June: “There was a hole in the floor inside the allotment house and one day he told me he wanted to put a see-through perspex glass over it.

“I said to him, ‘What the hell for? Just so you can look down into a dirty old cellar?’
