Leeds sign Neil Collins on loan from the OS:-

Preston North End defender Neill Collins has joined Leeds United on loan until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old signed the loan deal at Thorp Arch on Tuesday afternoon and will go straight into Simon Grayson's first team squad.

Collins brings plenty of experience, having first started his career in Scotland with Queens Park before moving to Dumbarton.

He signed for Sunderland in August 2004 for £25,000 and after making 24 appearances for the Black Cats, plus short loan spells at Hartlepool and Sheffield United, he joined Wolves in a £150,000 deal after initially impressing on loan.

The former Scotland under-21 international figured almost 100 times for Wolves, including 27 appearances as Mick McCarthy's side won promotion to the Premier League, but after one start this season, he joined Preston on loan.

Seventeen loan appearances convinced Alan Irvine to shell out £600,000 for Collins in January, but the Deepdale boss swiftly moved on to Sheffield Wednesday, and the defender has figured just five times under new manager Darren Ferguson.

Heard on SSN during the report there, that they've turned an 11 point lead over Norwich at the start of the year, in to an 11 point defecit. They are certainly doing their best to stop themselves going up.

If Swindon win next weekend then Swindon & Millwall (if they also win) will leapfrog over them! :D

Absolutely horrendous result today - 0-3 at home to Swindon. That's 3 wins in 16 games, and 4 straight defeats without a goal scored. Millwall and Swindon both above them now.

Of all the capitulations they've had in recent years, this could yet be the worst.
