Mr. Brightside
Christ the people from Philly really are a bunch of cunts. What need is there to boo Toews?
Bluenose5
Congratulations Blackhawks, deserved winners in the end. Hossa will be a relieved man.
SimplyTON
Seemed like an eternity between Kane's shot and the rest of the team celebrating last night Good hard fought series - Not exactly a classic but delighted the Hawks won.
Skeletar Spider
3-2 'Hawks, Ladd with the re-direct. In all honesty, what is the point of these posts?
Fife Saint
What a nightmare. The biggest moment of your life and nobody actually saw what happened!
Mr. Brightside
In all honesty, what is the point of these posts? Updates for people who can't watch the game. Not that I need to explain them.
Skeletar Spider
Updates for people who can't watch the game. Not that I need to explain them. Is it not unlikely that this would be the only way for someone to find out the score? Just seems a bit bizarre to me to be honest. -

Jute
Anyone know when the 10/11 fixtures are announced? Going to be over in California in November so looking to see if I can fit in a Sharks game.

They're out already, check the Sharks website.
RWB
FREE AGENCY: Looks like Devils are winding the clock back a bit and getting bigger physical players (veterans) in. Jason Arnott returns. Hopefully that improves the face-off issues. Couple of more rugged defenders in (Volchenkov & Tallinder) and Paul Martin is a Penguin now. Hope that works out for the Devils. Devils still intend to get Kovalchuk. Jokinen to Calgary. Can't see him doing much up there.

Virtual Insanity
Canucks add Dan Hamhuis on a free after trading for Keith Ballard (silly Pens trading for his negotiating rights when it seemed a dead cert he was signing in Vancouver), hopefully means a lot more protection for Luongo next season without compromising our attack. Need to get rid of Kevin Bieksa for cap purposes, will take anything. Also added Manny Malhotra from the Sharks. Not overly familiar with him but 2.5m a year for 3 years seems like quite a lot, especially given he apparently has a no trade clause. Jeff Tambellini was the other notable free agent addition.
The_Belgian
I've just found out that ex-Red Wing and Blackhawk Bob Probert died on Monday. Linky He played before I got into the NHL but it seems he was well liked by his team-mates. R.I.P. Bob.

Are you sure? The Sharks paid him relatively little last year to be a fourth line forward. As it turned out he played better than expected and ended up on the first line in the play-offs. But still, that does seem somewhat excessive. The Sharks have signed some goalie I'd never heard of to replace Nabokov and his 7 million a year salary. Which allowed them to retain Patrick Marleau. Still in the market for a defender. But they weren't too far away last year so major changes were never on the cards.
RWB
Kovalchuk Not very Devils like to do this! Thought Kings would get him after he'd apparently got down to the nitty-gritty of a contract with them. Cap hit is about $6m a year I think but this is based on rumours of a 17 year deal! Not ratified with league yet either. Never mind.

Virtual Insanity
A 17 year contract is just ridiculous... Which is probably why the NHL have supposedly refused to ratify the contract. A line needed to be drawn, hopefully this is it...

They'd be signing him up until he was 44. That's just daft!
