There's an advert for some motivational bollocks that keeps popping up on here that says "SWITCH ON YOUR AMBITION" and it makes me want to soak my face in batter and stick it in a deep fat fryer just so I never have to read it again.
I'd have brown sauce, salt and vinegar with this.

Nightshift is shite.
Granted quieter but shite. Sleeping pattern now all to f**k

I’m currently just about to start nightshift 8 of 22. Luckily, I spend most of my nightshift either sleeping or watching tv.

I find it utterly bizarre that in today's 24/7 society (obviously taking covid-19 out of the equation) that there are not 24 hour transport links to and from the city centre from this area.

You should volunteer for the night shift, put your words into action.

Do you work offshore or am I getting mixed up with someone else? Sounds like a weird shift pattern, in the olden days it was one week days, one week nights, then two weeks off. Did 6 weeks on, two weeks off abroad for a bit, can't remember how the nights and day shifts worked out.

It's like you set out just to piss me off with your life. I hope Smudger and Bigfoot kick your c**t in, tbh.

For a train driver's salary I would.

I've worked night shifts in the past. Started and finished shifts at every hour on the clock. I know they are shite.

But, and this is my point, the main reason for having to do so is that we live in a 24/7 society. If we expect people to start and finish work at all hours of the day then they should, within reason, be able to get to and from work on public transport.

Nightshift's a piece of piss on the railway!

I expect the biggest resistance to this would be people whose houses are close to a train line. Hard to avoid in the central belt.

Can't be any worse than mile long bloody goods trains rumbling past at 2am!

Reminds of the time when Sunday was the one day in the week when most friends and families could get together, and it turned out what they all really wanted to do is go shopping, so get these c***s back to work. 24/7 is for the unlucky few, lets keep it that way or reduce it.

I've had 2 houses where a main train line was right behind my back fence, and you very quickly learn to tune the noise out.

Luxury.  More often than not I'll be on a floating shift, getting woken up at some point in the 'night' for a few hours and then getting told to go back to get a nights sleep after working X hours.  Sometimes I don't even know whether I'm eating breakfast, lunch or dinner, which is made worse in the winter when it seems to be constantly dark.  I'm presuming that not many people end up having a choice of steak pie or lasagne for breakfast.

You must be some sort of highly paid specialist then, for whom I feel no sympathy.

(Also I have moved house in the last twenty minutes so you cant use any photos I have posted here to track me down.)
