Over 2 years later and I'm still seething about this too.

Those superfluous '0's are a waste of ink and therefore a drain on the environment. You pair of animals are worse than coal fuelled power stations. FWIW, you see it more often than not in restaurants over here. Fascinating fact for you there.

pandarilla
Is that not just because she's the British one and so the more interesting bit if the story vs some rando Jamaican getting gold? Also how come athletics has become so double barrelled of late?I don't mind them leading with Asher-Smith, but I object to "wins the women's 100m silver medal".It's just weird. I had just watched the race and then had to do a double take when I looked on the website.

Anyone who gives the slightest of fucks about international athletics will have heard of her.Women's athletics is double-barreled heavy as they want to take their husband's name upon marriage but also want to keep theirs for branding purposes. They don't want to go from Mixu Fixit to Mixu Shankland overnight and have people think its two different folk, they'll change it to Mixu Fixit-Shankland instead and keep the sponsors happy. Plus gender equality and all that.
Shandon Par
A couple of seasons back, Dunfermline "goalkeeper" finished one season as Davie Hutton and started the next as David Sinclair-Hutton.
GordonD
Ultimate football example is surely Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, though in his case the double barrel dates from the 17th century.
