rustyarabnuts
Yeah I love driving about with hardly nobody else on the roads. Probably the only benefit of working nightshirt was driving home at stupid o'clock and knowing there wasn't any complete fucktards around. I imagined you driving home in this garb

Smurph
The worst thing about making videos is putting a soundtrack on them. A song you used to love makes you want to kill yourself after hours of hearing tiny clips of the same f&cking bit trying to get it to fit.The one I'm working on just now is a documentary of my friends bands first gig in London, so the soundtrack will just be the live recording and it shouldn't be too bad. But yeah, unless the sound is actually from the video, it's a pain in the arse to edit.I installed Avid to my laptop (by other means. I didn't spend a grand on it) but it's taking 15 minutes to import a three minute clip and I really can't be wasting that much time. Edit- I have asthma but I haven't used my inhaler in three years or so. I think it just goes away. I have conquered it. I have a mac and was fortunate enough to get final cut studio (the old one), and use that for anything that needs real proper editing. For quick edits, the newst version of imovie is surprisingly slick. Editing on a windows laptop can be a nightmare though, especially if you use an external drive for storage - start import, go on holiday, come back a week later with at least 3 hours remaining
Smurph
Aye, it's Windows I've got, and it's Windows in college too. My laptop's on its last legs anyway so it's probably unfair to ask much from it. I'm really tempted to save up for a Mac. I'd feel dirty but they're just so good at everything.
ICTChris
Our shower has broken, we've been given a charge of £104 plus VAT and parts to come and fix it. It's impossible to get a quote as everyone just says they'd have to see what's wrong with it. I fucking hate getting tradesmen in as you always know they are trying to utterly rip the piss out of you.

I used ratedpeople.com when I needed to find a spark to fit a mains smoke detector for our flat that we were wanting to rent out. They have to pay to get your details to contact you to give you a quote, and you can see reviews that previous customers have given before you contact them. It's probably in their interest to do a good job.

Admittedly, I've only used it the once and the guy was brand new. I suppose it's just your Donald Duck.
