Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Recommended Posts

I'm an atheist but had a class christmas last year. Didn't need any presents, got up at 10 in the morning, went for a large run, went back and saw my family, had christmas dinner, off to the pub where me and my mates had a pro evo tournament. After that, went to a party. Theres no point being a miserable b*****d, just try your best to get on with it. :D

What, like calling someone a 'chimp'?

And that was purely based on his posting style. I was making comment on his god awful chimplike keyboard mashing. Although you make a fair point, I admit that reading GMan's posts enrages me past the point of reason! I'm pretty sure I don't have the same effect on "AramoanaDB".

I'm not saying I don't agree with you, but it's a bit precious to object to personal insults when you are quite happy to dish them out, irrespective of reason

I've read back my posts again, and you're right! I try not to be personal, and I very rarely use personal abuse, but having looked at the thread in question, I did get very personal. A very rare lapse, which I'm sure will be used against me for years now. He's just the only poster on this site who annoys me so. So you're right, I've temporarily had to give up my "not getting personal" card.

I don't think I've ever felt forced to enjoy Christmas. I've worked a few Christmas' and spent a few with family or my partner's family and it's just a holiday.

If your family want to spend Christmas with you, perhaps you should be pleased as it shows they care about you. On the other hand maybe your family actually hate you and take pleasure in winding you up about it. They probably have a 'proper' family meeting in late October to plan the annual rip the pish fest and award points and prizes for who can make you the most scarlet with teenage anger about eating roast turkey and satsumas.

Well it is. I'm not used to dealing with people like you. I'm use to dealing with people capable of, y'know, thought.

I thought you weren't going to get personal?

Oh and an apology to G_Man would have made your plea for clemency more believable.

Where did I say that? If anything, I said that his posts irritated me so much that I get personal. And an apology for what? His eyeball bleedingly bad posting style? Are you his carer?

Nobody has that effect on most people, probably cause, it's, y'know, the internet.

Noel Edmonds actually telling a contestant who had already dealt to "play an honest game please" with the remaining boxes.

Aye Noel, 'cos God forbid they should just pick boxes at random and not give it some serious thought.

I still have no idea why people watch Deal or No Deal.

Christmas is fucking amazing. I love it - the songs, the weather, the commercialism, the getting together with friends and family. It's far too good a time for it to be ruined by worrying about the religious aspect of it and other such nonsense.

Since we are all having a Christmas love-in, I'll join in. I'm home for a month at Christmas time, so I save a small fortune. That and everyone I know will be back up north, makes for good times.

That's it exactly. Mates who have moved away tend to come home at Christmas, and I'm very much hoping to get back to Greenock myself in December for the occasion. It's the one time of year when everyone's back in town.
