JamboMikey
Picture this. You've been in the house alone for a few days. You've not had anything to do so haven't bothered to get in the shower. You feel a delicious sandwich is in order. You prepare the sandwich and cup of tea. Looks great and you settle down at your desk to munch away. All of a sudden you get itchy balls. You stick both hands down there and get right in about the itch until it's gone. You finally pick up your delicious sandwich but are confronted by a rancid smell. It's your unwashed balls, it's now all over your hands and your sandwich. That's what gets on my nerves. -
stimpy
Balls should be washed every day, even if it's just a wipe with a warm soapy chamois leather cloth. Therefor I have no sympathy for your cheesy cheese sandwich.

Therefore my cheese roll earlier was just that.
kiwififer
Away to deliver leaflets in the pissing rain This, XBL - is what wins elections. It's called hard work, not fannying about on a fitba' message board trying to convert the unconvertable. I will publically shame you until you join up

Widge
Got insured on my mothers car as a learner, went out today for the first time and just couldn't get the bloody thing to work, it is so different from the instructors car, I went through a period of not even gettting it moving. To say I am annoyed is an understatement, oh aye and the brakes are shit compared to the other car and all. It's clearly going to take some getting used to.

Once you find the "biting" point of the clutch you are half way there. Take your time. Get it right. And you will be a good driver. Not a dead one.
Raith Against The Machine
I didn't do any practising in my parents' car, it was too different to my instructor's. I was spending the first 20 minutes of my hour lesson getting used to the car again. I wouldn't recommend it, though. Get used to your Mum's car and do plenty of hours practice. The big thing isn't controlling the car, it's getting used to other road users, junctions and timing, which are all pretty much the same no matter what car you're driving.

Big Gus
Mine has been working fine. Try switching it off for a few minutes (at the mains, not just on standby mode) and then let iot load up again. Ususally fixes any bother with mine.
Widge
Yeah I mean once I get used to it, I am mainly using it to get the hang of working up and down the gears, timing, etc. Also for a bit of practice with the manouvres. I think I was getting used to it by the end though and dare I say my dad was actually hindering me, he is used to driving in a different way and tbh he was telling me different stuff from what I've been taught, anyway I'm fairly confidant next time wont be a calamity.

Ignore your dad. Follow your instructor. That way we won't pick up bad habits.
