This reminds me of a PTTGOYN from my time in Hong Kong - the microwave was above the fridge and a cabinet and thus way too high - you pretty much had to stand on a stool to get food out or risk spilling it on your head.

I went to school with a Frazer

I don't remember any Frasers, a Ewen, a Sinclair, a Stuart, can't think of anybody else with a mildly exotic name.

I know people with those names (not the same person!).

In my primary 6 and 7 class there were two Stewarts and a Stuart. I still keep in touch with one of the Stewarts.

Billy Connolly points out that people called Alasdair always tell you how it's spelt - "It's Alasdair - D-A-I-R."

That is one of those names like Clare, Lyn, Lindsay, and so on where you are just subjecting the kid to a lifetime of spelling out their name for people.

Not as weird as people called Campbell doing it: "Campbell with a p", as if there's another way of spelling Campbell.
