Was listening to Radio Scotland yesterday and a woman was on talking about the Scotrail timetable and she was repeatedly saying 'Absolutely' but she pronounced it 'Absol-you-tley'.

No matter how they pronounce it, it GOMN when people say "Absolutely" when they just mean "Yes".

Think of all the folk waking up this morning with loser flags hanging from poles and windows. Slowly bringing them in, tidying them away to be kept in a cupboard for 50 more years. All with a tear running down a cheek.

Unlikely. Very few weedgies live past fifty, even the kids at the game now will die of cholesterol or smoking in bed within 49 years of now.

The way some from the Central Belt add in 'you' randomly in words.

Was she from Stoneybridge?

People who post a link to the Sun, Daily Record, Daily Mail and say "apologies for the link". If those papers/comics upset you so much, don't f****** post it.

It's the same when some Central Belt politicians pronounce 'Devolution' as 'Devol-you-tion'.

Why is this? It is really fuckin' annoying.

Used to have a colleague from Glasgow who spoke in this way. I suspect that he was trying to make us think that he was "posh" when he really wasnt.

It's surely more an apology for inflicting their own shocking taste in reading material on others!

"How's you!"

Makes no sense.

"How's you?" is quite a common question to ask and is, I find, easy to make sense of even if the conjugation is a bit avant garde for my tastes.

I've never heard it just barked at somebody though. You're right, that makes little sense.
