The FK postcode being on the Moonpig list is nuts.

^^^ pissed off because no one will send him an overpriced mildly amusing card for his birthday/Christmas/Father’s Day/retirement/etc.

As a very young kid it just confused me. Was so glad my Dad was in control of the sinister danger that lay ahead.

This is the one that used to stick in my mind as a kid . Especially as one of my dad's favourite pastimes when I was wee was to take me and my brother a drive around various dry docks to show us what ships he'd been working on.

People referring to their boyfriend / girlfriend etc as "my partner" - what? Do you run a business with them ya walloper?

Maybe my age, but it right gets on my tits.......................

I dunno, folk calling, in their 30s and 40s, their other half their boyfriend/girlfriend sounds a bit weird IMO.

I'm 52, other half/partner/bidie in/ball and chain is 37 with two teenage kids,

hardly seems right to call her girlfriend.

I used to work with a woman who talked about her partner. They were in their early 20s and they thought this meant more than boyfriend/girlfriend. To me it just sounds so impersonal. You have partners in business, in golf, and more besides.

They got married eventually but it always jarred to hear the phrase.
