Fundraising Update

Recommended Posts

Ok everyone. The immediate panic for fundraising is over - we have smashed our target and as a result I have now placed our order for our spangly shiny new dedicated server and we will move to that in the next week or so.

I am humbled by the response I received. In 24 hours we raised the following;

Casino Affiliate

12 users clicked our affiliate link and deposited $50 in a betting account (one into poker). This has raised $2350 for the website which is astonishing.

In "real money" this equates to £1331 :D B)

Paypal Donations

We have taken loads of individual donations through paypal.

This amounts to a total of £240 !

Cheques

I received cheques from Skyline Drifter, Livi Clyde and David W which were all for £20 each. Awesome. And another from Chic Gibson for £20.

11/01 More cheques from HP$, Yogisbairn and Duff man totalling £85 received :)

Thank you all very much !!

I also received £20 cash from Paisleybuds (although I suspect Tommy was the donator !)

Another £185 raised

Total Funds Raised

To date we have thus raised;

Casino £1331

Paypal £240

Cheques £185

£1756

Web Hosting

Our web hosting is $1188 which equates to £671

I have paid half of this up front for the new server and the rest will be paid next week

Nett Funds

So - this will leave us with nett funds of £1000 less any £28 refunds we process for those who signed up to the affiliate scheme (6 claims made to date).

Once I have received our commission from 888.com and completed the move to our new server I will run a few competitions and start giving away some prizes as promised.

Again - can I thank each and every one of you who has reacted so quickly to this situation, makes me realise what we have here on P&B !

888.com P&B Affiliate Scheme

The affiliate scheme is now at an end - thanks to everyone who took part !

Can I suggest we don't bother with the prizes? Very generous idea of Div but shouldn't the money just be kept for the next time of asking by the server host? I fear they will ask for more the next time...

I'd agree with that. Costs will be ongoing, so I don't see any need in giving out prizes myself. Having P&B is reward enough in it's self! ;)

Still, it's Div's shout - however he sees fit is fine by me.

I agree with that although I have as yet to send Div anything. Keep it in the bank for when it is needed.Long Live P&B :thumsup2

Whit's going on? can I get paid for posting now, I'm in great demand you know.

Is there somewhere a technophobe (nae paythingy) can send a very very small cheque, I'd send cash but £4.83 in coppers means I'd need to use two envelopes for security :)

Don't you and yours have other fundraising commitments?

Ditto - sticking the surplus cash in the bank so there's already a bit of money there when the web hosting has to be paid for next year seems to me to be a pretty good idea.

But given that my contribution came from those nice people at 888.com, I'm not bothered :)

In common with everyone else on the thread I agree with that.

It's up to you Div but I don't see the point in giving all the excess away as prizes when undoubtedly you're going to be in the same position next year as I presume this is an annual fee they want for the dedicated server. Stick it in a separate account somewhere so you're not tempted to spend it and use it next year to save all the panic.

Yip - not the worst shout in the world - but I would hope that my being a bit innovative I can soon implement my plan that will mean the site is self financing and may even turn a wee profit.

There will be prizes - it is what I have promised - and I'm a man of my word :D
