Is this not something to do with Twitter ending their free API or something like that?

Musk is an arsehole who is ruining Twitter.

Twitter's falling apart, just noticed it won't translate tweets anymore. Incidentally tweets are still embedding fine on FitbaNorth, maybe because there's far less traffic.

They also embed fine on the CaleyThistleOnline. But yeah, Twitter seems to be a binfire in general these days.

Seems they're having the same issue on Wordpress.

Tweets seem to embed on the Dundee forum well enough still. I'd assumed that the two forums used the same software?

https://twitter.com/pieandbov/status/1665070110262939652?s=20We do use the same software. Not sure if we are on the same release, or it could be a Cloudflare issue.

I'll do some digging.

I think it might have something to do with volume of traffic, with Twitter wanting to gouge money out of heavy users. Short sighted if so as folk will just start posting screenshots instead of linking to their platform and getting bombarded with ads.

P.S. Is your St Mirren forum affected the same as here?

Yeah it's got the same issue. I'll chase up the support ticket I raised.

Sharing it via the 'share' link seems to embed it on here rather than going through the previous 'embed' process. Only tried it once or twice but seems to have a higher success rate:
