The article doesn't really say how high the fence is. I suspect the couple in the picture are only 3ft 6 inch tall, and the angle of the picture makes a normal sized fence look huge.

Unable to find the original article with the first picture of the guy and his daughter. But there is another one here with an equally funny picture of a posing local resident.

Oh the pain, oh the agony! That must have been a slow news day for the Daily Mail. Man puts up 6 foot fence. You never see them. The b*****d!

There’s so much to be gleaned from that one article about this couple of absolute oddballs.

'I suffer from depression and I have got no friends’. Yep.

Retired builder Mr Boltwood , 65, added: 'I daren't speak to her because I worry that I would lose my head.‘ - Head’s Gone. Fred West 2 IMO. Bodies in the ground.

I’m being kicked out because of row with my neighbours over fence – I did what all gardeners do, it’s ridiculous

This is a great read. What "all gardeners do" is lean their stuff against fences, nick stuff from other allotments, dish out verbal abuse, have heart attacks and have his gate locked.
