GAD Posted May 13, 2023 Share Posted May 13, 2023 Tough one to take. Tbh, from my view in the stadium it was a penalty, but not going to argue with the folk who've seen it again. Either way, it was very poor game management from us. Hearts have good players, guys we could never afford, and you have to respect that. We've got 11 v 10 with seconds to go and we get hit on the counter because we've committed too many men forward. Where was the usual shitfest, why was the ball not stuck in the corner? Maybe these are the kind of things you need to go through to progress. We've never been here before and yo be honest, two weeks in a row we've been a bit naive. We were so naive those last 20 mins, maybe the lack of experienced like for like option for Grieve cost us as the ball just kept coming back despite being a man up and we’d do daft things on the counter. The ref was atrocious, I previously thought he was quite decent. The Halliday one in first 10 mins was ridiculous, clear as day a booking. Let him off then proceeded to book every other player he could. The red card was baffling, I was sure it would get downgraded. The ref was a complete clown, one of those guys who lost control early then just went with whoever shouted the loudest. He was massively inconsistent with free kicks and especially with cards, and the Hearts red was just wrong. Hearts switched on to the fact he didn't really know what was happening and played him a bit better, and we're still on the end of the honking red. Even the penalty, the Hearts player was playing the ref, he knew the guy couldn't resist and had nothing to lose by going down.
