The New Conference League Tier 5

So you would allow the 3 B teams into Div 4, where they would be almost all but guaranteed to fill the top spots, and deny one the genuine teams a chance to progress?

If the WoSFL were willing. I wouldn't. I want nothing to do with full time youth teams in the pyramid.

It's one year and since the WoSFL believe in 3 promotion spots. Somebody else is still getting promoted.

Plus shock horror football's played on the pitch not paper. Who knows how things might play out. Kelty waltzed the Lowland in a single season after all. Darvel are heading to the SPFL. Syngenta are still in business heading for another promotion season.

They say there is not enough challenges in the Lowland league for progression for the Colt teams. Make them start at the bottom and work there way up through the ranks with proper promotion and relegation within a correct pyramid system and also extended the development league age limit to under 23 to allow for better preparation for the first team. After the 20’s some clubs lose their players to the Amateurs where if under 23’s who help solve that pathway and still be able to play with under 23’s and first team to gain experience

The situation with the B Teams has no baring on the U20s development league,  its a totally different level

100% Defiantly the development league should stay at U20s,
Thankfully most who are in the know and experienced want it at u20s
It does not help the pathway opening it up to U23s.   If coached right then the young lads coming through should be start to making an impression with the first team. it should be run right with the committees, coaches and first team management working together.  All that will happen is lads at 21/22 who are first team players will be moved down to the U23s, taking up valuable learning experiences for the younger players

Don't think so some how. Saw them on the telly over the weekend booking a place in the Scottish Cup final. Incredible effort, legendary team. Get Andy Rodgers in the Scotland squad now!

Conversation about Rangers/Celtic running up cricket scores if they were to enter teams the lowest division of the WoSFL instead of shoehorning their way in at Tier 5. Games aren't won on paper and 3 examples were used to illustrate this.

Kelty: Took 3 years

Darvel: Ha!

Syngenta: Deid!

When one of these points was taken as genuine by Vollyman. I doubled down getting more ridiculous hoping they would finally twig.

The big question is whether clubs in the SPFL have the brains to realise that after a season or two, the next step will be pressure on them to remove the ceiling for B teams and allow them to be promoted. The knock on will come further down the line when they find themselves being relegated into the conference league with the B teams playing at a higher level.

Unfortunately the only language a number of these boards understand in the language of money.

And money can talk long and loud.

Yes, indeed, but they're not all complete fools. Some will look ahead and see the dangers.

“The Conference League is all about developing Scottish players”

We often hear this argument from fans and representatives of Scotland’s biggest two clubs, but how seriously do these clubs take their role of developing Scottish players?

We calculated the total number of minutes played by each Premiership team across all competitions this season, and the number of minutes played by Scottish players in those teams.

The results are clear.

The only reason that Rangers and Celtic want Scottish players at all is to meet UEFA's quotas for European competition. The alternative is to be like Man City who have 37 year old Scott Carson as a rarely used back up keeper as he counts as home grown.

It's hardly fair to say Kelty took 3 years when they were denied the chance of promotion in one of those years.

Seeing all the Rangers fans on twitter etc giving it ‘oh it’ll improve Scottish football’ says fans of the team that cheated the tax man and flooded the game with foreign players and reduced youth progression to dust. Never lose sight of the fact the OF dont care about the national team, as seen in the table above, its all about them.
If they want B teams, start at the bottom, UK born players only, £100k a year to be shared amongst all the clubs at level 5 and below per B team and see if they go for it.

Another thing about these B teams or colt teams whatever you want to call them none of them actually have a home ground they are all renting premises unless of course they intend using there own complexes or training grounds which I think would be unlikely
