Was going to call this thread, That Dick Campbell Vs That Dick Bullen. But I don't think Bullen is a dick and the joke may be lost on some.

Arbroath have been a bit of a bogey team for us in recent years, more so up there.

1-1 Akinyemi with a late equalizer.

Ayr give me the fear with Akinyemi and Maguire but we probably really could’ve and maybe should’ve held on to the 2-1 lead we had the last time we met at Somerset. Tam and Ricky have to be at their best and Balde and Hetherington in the middle will have to be too. Ahead of them I would go Dow on the left, Stewart on the right and McKenna in the hole behind big Adarkwa who can hopefully start getting back to what he was doing before his wee injury. He has potential to cause Ayr some problems too.

If we can get minimum 7 points from the next 3 going into QP at home, we could be in with a shout with possibly results going our way elsewhere, however as the old cliche goes, the next game is always the biggest.  This game will be huge for both teams, Arbroath rightly be on a high after last week's result.  Be good to have Musonda back this week.  Anyone know how Mullin is coming along.  Think the team will not be too dissimilar to last week, but Murdoch and Musonda in for McAlear and Hewitt:

Albinson

McAllister  Musonda  McGinty  Reading

O'Connor  Murdoch  Dempsey  Ashford

Akinyemi  Maguire

Subs: McAdams, Hewitt, Bilham, Watret, Smith, McAlear, JML, McKenzie, Bryden

Going for a close 1-0 win with Dipo on the scoresheet.

Pivotal weekend coming up for Arbroath. Take something from the Ayr game and hope that Cove and Accies both lose their difficult games and we start to put a small amount of daylight between us and them.

Could quite easily go the other way. Cove’s last win was away at Partick and Dundee have shown that they can lose to anyone, and Accies will be on a high after the cup win.

A win on Friday really piles the pressure on our competition. A loss and it piles it back onto us. We have to win at home again sometime…. don’t we?

Expecting another close match with very little between the two teams.

Arbroath starting to show their confidence and self belief - think this will either be a 1-1 draw or a 1-0 home win.

A very tough match, but our players look well up for the battle.

Last sentence is key, they never give up and are a credit to themselves. Last couple weeks in particular highlighted this. Now we seem to be more balanced and have more of an attacking threat post January (still a limited one) we are picking up some results.

A huge positive is that we’ve become difficult to score against again. The defence, and Gaston of course, appear have really found form. I think we have to face the fact that we ain’t hammering anyone so if the defence continue to be as miserly as they have been recently then it’s likely to be another close, low scoring game.

Well we've been here so often this season, a good result and optimism goes up a few notches only to be let down again.

Hopefully this will be the time when we kick start our season, turn that corner, get a home win and not have to be looking over our shoulder at what other teams are doing.

If the manager picks the right team and the guys play as well as they have been doing the last few weeks we can get that elusive home win.  But it won't be easy against an Ayr side who will be looking to finish in the play offs at least.
