Guardiola, his Barca, Bayern and Man City, is all "juego de posición", positional play. It owes more to Johan Cruyff and Marcelo Bielsa than Spanish tradition. Arteta also does it at Arsenal now. While Guardiola does have a liking for smaller stature, technically and tactically gifted players like Xavi, Iniesta, Lahm, Bernardo and David Silva. He does well for City but hes not really a match winner at that level and kind of just merges into the background.
